Half Shaft Replacement

So I think I completely understand the removal process except I have gotten stuck on trying to remove the e-brake line. I have taken off the pin holding the small U bracket to the lever, but I can't figure out how to disconnect the cable and the tube it's in from the larger bracket that is mounted on the brake caliper.

Do I just hammer the tube off of the bracket? It looks like the smaller U bracket that the cable mounts to won't fit through where the tube mounts, so I assume I would have to disconnect the actual cable from that bracket as well?

I have read some flashoffroad's instructions on how to do this and some others and none of them tell me how exactly they got the e brake line off.

The Cleve's pin come off, the C-clip comes off, then pull the cable forward till the small internal cable lines up with the cutout on the caliper ebrake mounts....

I'm trying to figure out why your having to even mess with the brake lines.
you should only need to remove the 6 metric bolts on one end of the half shaft and the 1 SAE bolt on the other.

I dont know why either, take 2 bolts out, roll the shaft, take 2 bolt out, roll the shaft, take 2 bolts out then roll the half shaft off the rotor. But his initial question was about getting the brake cable off. I know I get side tracked while doing a project then end up forgetting what I started doing.
