Was that mean't to be helpful, or sarcastic?

If helpful, does that mean the ring simply mounts via bolts on either side of the hardtop?
That is the standard Old School Turret Support setup that was used on Weapons Carriers ect. That is not nearly high enough to be able to be used for the Helmet Tops. It is normally up tight against the bottom of the roof panel. The Helmet tops are about six or more inches higher than an Old School Slant Back roof panel so you would have to make some sort of adaptor to extend up towards the Helmet top roof and then support the Turret Bearing. Just raising the Turret support up may be problematic as the forward legs will probably hit the front curved portion of the Helmet Top and you will have to make up new connectors up front, for the B Pillar connections and for the C Beam connections too.

These look like its the same turret as a Hmmwv would have on a hardtop except the coupla / shield
There are 900 series 5 tons that use a flat turret plate which accepts Hmmwv turret top parts.
There's also a ring adapter for an M1151 that can be used......but hard to find as is with all the other turret parts.
The 3 photo's in earlier post above seem to be using the REAL heavy M66 gun ring.
