Probably idiots who just wanted to joyride. If they were stealing it to sell or part out/scrap it would have been hidden. Getting stuck in snow tells me they didn't know how to engage the front axle.

It was an older guy.. they have him on video, and as stated before, I talked to the owner, and the front axle WAS engaged....

They also have the guy on a dash cam from a guy driving through the area... https://www.facebook.com/riah.nottelling/posts/1272853429492170

Sad to see how little it takes to get these stuck. Worked out in this case though. Looks like the front was not engaged, but, doesn't matter now. Glad they get it back, doesn't always go that way.

Don't you just wish you could have been there when he jumped inside....

Looks like they ran it out of fuel, went and got fuel, and went back.

The dashcam video has them on the side of the road, with a jerry can that looks like it came off the truck.

It's not responsible for mv owners to leave it that accessible. Major damage could have been caused if an intoxicated person had decided to go for a joy ride. The thief was wrong and should be punished but the truck should be secured if left in such an open place. Would you leave any other vehicle sitting with doors unlocked and key in ignition?

That's the problem with the world now, it's always someone else's fault !!!!
The person who took the truck is RESPONSIBLE, he is the one who STOLE the truck.

Don't twist what I'm saying. If you have a gun, is it a good idea to leave it loaded in the passenger seat of your car while you run in to the store? No. I agree that you should be able to but that's not the reality these days.

Interesting perspective though. In MI, it is a ticket if you leave your vehicle running with keys in the ignition and leave the vehicle. Owners did not leave the vehicle running in this case, but my stock 925a2 always has the keys in the ignition, per say. I do always use the supplied chain steering wheel lock when away from the truck.

No excuse for the thief, sucks we have to consider that these people are out there, and in plenty. People will break rules when they get desperate.

Not trying to start an argument here but if the guy who stole it, who probably has nothing, got in a head on collision and killed people who do you think the insurance company and lawyers will go after? The thief with nothing or the owner who left it unsecured? Not saying it's right or trying to start an argument about our legal system so no response needed. Just something to think about.

Do you people even READ before you post?

Jesuchristo!

I must have posted 8,246.3 times already that I talked to the owner AND THE FRONT AXLE WAS ENGAGED!
