Resto work in DFW

Located in dfw area and looking for a place than can do some work on my 88 CUCV. Basically body work, but mechanical sense would be a bonus. Any help is appreciated. Location in dfw Texas.

It's a v10 blazer. Is there anyone I can call like Gm? And see what it is? It's definitely a militarized blazer from factory. But none of it matches what you just said over than the first 2 digits

Should be another one on the door jam, not the door itself.
Underneath where the door lock post is.

It should have a data plate on the drivers like the ones posted in post #10 of this thread;
[h=1]CUCV VIN Number Plate.........[/h]or at least holes where it was .

There is a chance it was a off the shelf contract truck for base use. Is it 24v , does it have blackout light switchs on the dash ?

It was 24v and had an inverter to switch to 12v in the cab. But like I said, the title said government. Has the slave hook up for jumping and what not. And the military trailer hook up

Unless there's 4 holes where the plate use to be, it's not a true CUCV.

You still have a great truck and it can very easily be made to look like the real thing.


I would be nervous driving that on the LBJ.
DFW isn't known for slow drivers, as I'm sure you know.

Lol it'll cruise 80. It's got 3.73 rear-end I'm super confused cause I guess I didn't express that Its not a CUCV but It was used by the Navy. I guess driven around the base. And whatnot. It's weird. Never seen anything like it really.

Military did same thing I believe with other pickups, etc.
Used for base duties.


Yea, before flight school I lived in Valley Ranch.
I-635 is/was quite the autobahn.

I-635 is/was quite the autobahn.

They now have an express way that's under 635. Speed limit is 75, but, there is no where for cops to run radar. I see people running 120+

I'll get some this afternoon. What would need to be seen?

The whole truck from different angles. Front, back, etc.
Engine, grill, dash, interior, etc.
Any unique switches, markings, stenciling.

Youll find that here on this site, everyone loves pics.
Helps everyone to help you since a picture is worth a "thousand words".

Like I said, you still have what looks like a nice truck.
There are other members here who own very similar tricks. Not a cucv, but served the military/Govt.

Got it from an old boy in Jacksboro for 3k has 64k miles and mechanically sound. Only issue is some dings here and there. I'll get those pictures post haste.

Not so much a clone but a government owned blazer.
Probably originally Navy blue.
Ive had 2 of them in the past 350 gas motor ect.
It does have the wider wheels on it, that's a plus.
