I must say, you have some great skills in sheet metal working Bill ! That looks great !Got the center panel on, lined up and drilled.
Tomorrow I'll remove it.
Apply seam sealer between the panel and framing.View attachment 757626View attachment 757627

I'm sorry I didn't read this post earlier. I would have cut off the frame behind the cab and using some original frame from another deuce "spliced in this new section. You can weld this frame as it is "not" hardened. Then I would get some "C" channel made up to fit "inside" the original channel two feet longer on both ends (four feet total) . After welding in the new sections I would "bolt" in the smaller "C" channel . Not the same as "fish platting" but close. I owned a deuce that had a crane mounted on the back. It had this set-up and it worked for decades at the shipyard where I bought it from.Well I couple days ago I asked if any one had any ideas on lengthen the frame.
Keep it the same and shorten the bed.
The I took matters into my own hands.
SOOOOOO
Here we goView attachment 758940View attachment 758941View attachment 758942View attachment 758943
^^^^^ This all day.I'd update the fuel lines entirely and go with the modern braided flex lines. Then you can run any length you need
