I acquired my truck not because it was a military vehicle, I just wanted a big 4x4. I was planning on a square body truck build. Plan was to run Rockwell’s, 48” tires, and a duramax swap into a 87 Chevy truck. Started pricing what I needed. Long story short, just didn’t have the funds to do it my way. Then I saw my first bobbed deuce. And well I started pricing and I could afford to do it this way. I know most of you on here don’t like to cut up trucks and bob them but it’s my truck after all and it works for me. Also no offense but I didn’t want it to look military when I was done. I wanted it different from the crowd so to speak. I love my truck and it has been good to me. So here’s a list of what’s done and what’s to come.

1971 Kaiser Jeep C-turbo bobbed M35A2

8” black rock fab lift
53” good-years
Dump bed
Power steering
Relocated steering column (angled more towards windshield easier to drive)
Lock out hubs
ARB air lockers front and rear
15,000lbs winch 24 volt
Hewitt 15psi boost gauge
Isspro pyro gauge
Clinometer/altimeter
Custom snorkel
5 ton truck tool box where spare tire would go
Headlight guards

Soon to come upgrades:
Dual circuit brake set up
Black rock fab disc brake kit.
Spin on oil filters and fuel filters
Coolant filter

Hope you all enjoy the pics. I love this
truck. Attracts a lot of attention whenever I take it out.

I guess I’ll share a little bit about mine…
1985 m923. The biggest thing that sets it apart is the 13 speed Eaton Fuller. I’ve also added an ht60 turbo. Plus a ton of other smaller, less exciting, things. I don’t use the truck for anything other than a toy but it does a great job on toy duty. I’ve put about 3000 miles on it so far and enjoyed every one of them. I’ll get a better video one of these days….. https://youtube.com/shorts/t_k4AeFDEi4?feature=share

I don't know about you, but I'm really diggin' that M35A2 that Aussie Bloke has. I think the whole "let's put giant tires on it and make everything shiny" thing has been well overdone in recent years. Something can be said about just a nice, original configuration truck in a decent standard paint scheme this time around....

Forgot to mention the truck also has keyed ignition, keyed door handles, block heater, and a 20 amp 12 volt inverter. MRAP steps to help get in this truck. The air lockers use a front axle lock air switch and I custom made the bracket so the switches are together. Also put in the dual rifle holders on the dash. All dash lights have been upgraded to white LED’s and clear lenses instead of the red. The front axle and air lockers indicators use LED’s as well with amber light indicators.

The boost and pyro gauge pod was made by member US6x4 I also have a hood strut kit to help open the hood and keep it from slamming down on anyone working under the hood. It was made by member 4xDesign just didn’t get it installed yet. The the hood will work like a modern truck hood. Some more pics

There is a great collection of vehicles this month, so I suppose that I should do some "campaigning".

This is my dump truck. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Built by Mack, she started life in 1952 as a M51 gasser. She served with the Army, getting rebuilt at some point into an M51A2. She got the multi-fuel engine, but still retains the 1:1 top gear transmission. Didn't get the overdrive unit. So we get there, we just don't get there as fast.

In the late 90's, she retired from her military career. Buy she wasn't done serving her country. Moving to "Rock Post Country" (so named because the land is so flat and treeless that they cut limestone into post to build fence, not kidding), she enlisted with volunteer fire department in Sylvan Grove, KS. There she served another nearly two decades having shed her dump bed for a tanker.

Now finally done with her service, she hangs around here at my place. A member here was able to locate me a replacement bed, and we got her back in an original style paint job. I did keep the white from the fire department paint job on the bumper and mirrors because I thought it accented nicely.

Not getting much of a workout these days but does help out with limb clearing chores on occasion. She takes me to work sometimes. Even got dressed up and was in a christmas parade to help support a veteran assistance group.

There's lots if maintenance, repairs, and upgrades left to do, but aren't there always. This truck has been the product of a life long dream. It's lots of fun and gets lots of looks.

Eric, your right. I've owned my truck for 14 years, and I still have a to do list. As you said. There's maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Seems never ending.

For Father's day/birthday, my girlfriend was sweet enough to buy me an overhead console/backup camera/Bluetooth stereo/dome light combo from www.thosemilitaryguys.com

So now I have toons, light at night and a back up assist/rearview mirror
Ken, I really like that back up assist/rear view mirror feature. Makes backing your truck up a lot safer.
