Need a starter? I have 6! Pm me if you do!
Wish I read this sooner. They had a new one at Napa an I just installed it this morning. New starter purrs as she winds down and gets the engine going in one revolution. :)

Now to figure out why there is a grind for a split second when I'm over 35 mph and go to accelerate...

Found out my hard start issue wasn't because of the injector lines like I thought..

It's pissing fuel out of the side of the IP throttle shaft.... a known issue... about 2 drops a second...
Easy fix! You can do it my brotha from another mother. I give it a 2 1/2 hr time frame.

Got the heater/blower to work. Part of the electrical fried itself and melted the waire in half. I saw that when I bought it but only recently got around to working on it and totally forgot, so I spent an hour fumbling around with a multimeter and reading schematics. The melt was just before plugging into the heater inside the engine bay.

Also figured out I dont have a horn and that the long white wire that goes all the way to the front is likey for the AWOL piece of gear.

Still have a black/white stripe wire from the fuse box hanging by the parking brake. Its about 2.5/3ft long. Any ideas?
Edit: No continuity between this and seatbelt buzzer, thought since that doesnt work (not that i want it to) that might be it.

Also trying to figure out why I have no wait light, but the truck has been starting fine. I usually just turn to "on" and wait about a minute rolling down the window, lighting a smoke and putting in a headphone to queue up some music before starting. Always turns over just fine.
Edit: After some listening the relay comes on and turns off after about 12 seconds in cold weather. I can hear it click. Still starts up fine, still no wait light (Bulb confirmed good)

Cleaned Gen 1 bulb recepticle with pencil eraser, that comes back on now.

A couple things..

1. That was already removed, so of course it's easy. You have to remove the intake in order to get to it when it's still on truck.
2. If the throttle shaft O-ring is bad, then the internals of the pump are probably not that far away from being toast as well, being that it's mostly due to age.

So, if I have to do 80% of the work of replacing it, I might as well just replace it.

I washed it and cleaned the interior and all the glass inside and out. I can actually see now!

Most of the factory paint is gone off the wheels and has a surface rust patina. Debating to repaint wheels or leave alone.
Body needs a repaint but doubt if it ever gets one.

12 inches of snow here an lots of down trees. Took it on the first real challenge since we got it an the truck did EXCELLENT. able to pull off the road for others to pass and just go right through the wall of snow made by the plows. Never even got close to stuck.
Excellent! What tires are you running?

What good is a battle wagon that doesn't look like it's been in a few battles?

Klever R/T 17in wheel and 32in tire advertised as AT/MT
Reviews looked good, so far I am VERY happy with them. Great traction in the snow and ice, even has spots for the sutds if ya got them (and they are allowed).

Since the truck is my daily, I wanted something quieter than the Wrangler 2s so I could hear the engine, they are pretty damn quiet.

Ive hardly even put 1k miles on them however, so take the early review with a grain of salt.

The M1008 is at my brother's again for now, but I thought I'd dig out the canvas we'd picked up with it to take a proper look at it. The previous owner mentioned he'd modified an M105 trailer cover and hoops to fit, but had gotten rid of that setup. I wasn't sure if this cover was for a truck or a trailer.

Turns out, it's an M880 cover. I've been looking at old forum threads on the topic and it sounds like they're close enough that they fit on either. The bows that I bought with the truck are still in storage with the previous owner, but they're cut into pieces so it won't be much more work to modify them to fit the M880 top. Looking forward to getting this all set up.

Kind of carried away - as front LEDs are great, i ordered another set, idea is recess to bumper. 40W wide beam area. Mainly, because previous owner already ruined rear blackout light holes - one for reverse light and other for red fog light. As lights were bigger, this a**hole just made holes bigger (n).
Got them today.
