- discussions on the OEM mounting of the box on the 1079 point out a gap is left between box's sub frame and the chassis. That is interesting point that have not seen discussed nor really even built back into others who turned LMTV into a camper.
- other boxes on other rigs .. they sit the box directly on chassis with wood or more modern material between.. even if they do have small allowed movement (similar captured spring to 1079 set up
- granted superflexy box mounts have huge gaps siting well above the chassis so the built in pivots allow the truck chassis to twist wildly without interference from the box mounting.
what do ya'll genius in here think about this gap intentionally left into the M1079 system? It's about a 1/4" all the way along truck chassis between where mounts to truck chassis are .... thus ONLY support of the box is- the 4 mounting pads (two up front are captured spring though)
