My petlas came in today. look good, DOT 0824, so, lots of life. $390 ea shipped from simple tire.
Look like i will NOT be installing the bead locks, sorry for your troubles Mogman, thanks for the write up.
I am not yet sure the plan with balancing them. I own a balancer, i remember a few of my rims being off by several OZ with NO TIRE. with the bajas, they were calling for 16+oz... I used both beads and rings.
I may try to pick up a set of 24 bolts for the petlas install
They are back in stock at Simple, at nearly a $100 increase over what you said you paid, jeez just can't get a break...

I need a sugar mama :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Price does fluctuate quite a bit. I've actually check simple tire probably weekly, since before this thread started.
I actually did buy them from their eBay store, I had them in my cart for over a month, and then I got a push notification that the price had been lowered. That's what pushed me over the edge to actually buy them since previously I've been going back and forth with just getting another set of baja takeoffs

Right now I can't find a decent deal on the set of 24 bolts. I kind of want to install these on a new set of rims instead of my old 12 bolt
My local guy does not have any, there's one guy selling some sets on ebay, but with shipping you're looking at 500+ bucks for four

How wide are your TWF PVC spacers?

I went to install the tires today and put one of my 12 bolts rims on the balancer by itself... Nope

I ordered a set of 24 bolts from feltz
Trying to decide on inserts. I'm can get local rubber ones for $10, TWF will cut some PVC ones to custom size, or go with no inserts like I have for the past few years

Well there’s always this it blasts a lot of air to fill the tireView attachment 927114

Or one of these that fills the gap between the tire and the bead and just pushes off when the tire is fully inflated. ( my fave next to starting fluid 😉)View attachment 927115
I think I fixed it!
How do you like the air bead seater? I was thinking about getting one.
I just today did a tire with at least a 3" gap ( I ain't lyin) between the bead and the rim with the tire soap, you reclaim most of it as the air pushes it out.
When you get done just wheel her over to the garden hose and wash it and yourself off as it is after all simply soap.
But I am always willing to try new stuff, I see the 2gal version with a BA looking remote dump valve, would like to see on on a 5 gal.

That’s my fave. The blaster works but may take a couple of try’s , plus if ur not holding on real good it can tak off like a rocket.
I like using the soap, I have been doing it long before those blasters ever became popular, besides you have to get the can of soap out anyway :)

Well, my new 24bolts arrived and i picked up some runflats local.
I was going to order a set up TWF PVC beadlocks, but they are now $560 SHIPPED.
So I think im going to find some PVC local and cut my own.
For now, I need to decide runflats, or no run flats. Smoothness is paramount, but i wanna be able to air down if i ever go on a trail ride.
