FYI:
Battery voltage with the engine off for the 12 V passenger side battery is 12.74 V. With it running it’s 14.58 V.

Battery voltage with the engine off for the 24 V battery on the driver side is 24.80 V. with it running it’s 29.35 V.

Alternator voltage with the engine off driver side alternator is 12.64 V. With it running it’s 14.62 V.

Alternator voltage with the engine off on the passenger side 24 V alternator is 12.20 V. With it running it is 29.31 V.

The alternator that is putting out 24 V has the marking stamped on the case for a 12V. The alternator has a part number stamped on the case showing 12 V, also 105 A.

I will probably open up the back of the alternator to see what 24 V regulator is there so I can order a spare.

I converted my M1008 to serpentine belt. I couldn't find a CS130 alternator in isolated ground so I drilled out the mounting holes and installed plastic sleeves and Garolite washers. Those look like CS130 alternators in the LSSV.

Did you have 2 alternators? Like a regular cucv?

I have a regular CUCV, 1986. I bought an eBay 6.5 from a 2001 C3500 truck because it had most of the brackets to support dual alternators and AC. I still have dual alternators now. There is a company that makes pigtails to plug the 27SI connectors into the CS130 so everything else was plug and play once I isolated the passenger side alternator body.1000001552.png

2006 LSSV CREW CAB SHORTBED "WIRE TO NOWHERE" HELP REQUEST PLEASE:
I have a brownish-gray wire in my (probably) alternator wiring harness that appears to be broken at its connector that I'm trying to figure out what it should be connected to. The wire sticks out of the harness right where there the exciter wires (or whatever you wish to call them) "T" out of the harness (as a single wire) that runs to the driver's side alternator and goes to a connector but the other end of the connector doesn't have a wire coming out of it that I think should be there and go to something. I pulled apart the connectot and the meter reads 12V and I've looked high and low for the wire that I think should be running from the other end of the connector to something but I can't find a loose wire anywhere, which would probably answer my question. Also, while the driver's side alt is putting out around 14V when the running, no power is going to the driver's side battery and I'm wondering if the missing wire is the source of the problem. Any help/thoughts at all would be very much appreciated. Happy to post more pics, answer any questions, etc. Thanks very much!

I probably should have mentioned that I think you can see the wire I'm talking about in Stonepicker1's photos above on this thread and on another thread where Stonepicker1 posted pics of his truck's dual alt 24V wiring. Also, the wiring harness that the wire sticks out of at the "T-off" to the driver's side alt continues on to connect to the driver's side battery's negative terminal. Thanks

Many thanks Stonepicker1. The photos and the time you took to take them and, it looks like even cut the electrical tie to spread out the looms for a better view are, well, I can't tell you how much I appreciate that! Sorry for the delay in responding but two things combined -- (1) had a family emergency crop up and (2) it's so darn hot here in Houston that I've had to explore my wiring in fits and spurts -- created the delay. Unfortunately, I don't have great news to report. I've been searching, believe me, and while your photos for sure show the loomed wire that runs down there on the side of the alternator, my loom/wire is simply not there -- just looks like it was pulled out at the connector. Sort of strange because one would expect that the missing wire would be there "hanging out," but of course as most Steel Soldiers know, goodness only knows what my truck's been through before I bought it. I can't tell where your loomed wire goes once it drops down to "somewhere" after it goes down along the side of the alternator and I definitely didn't, and do not, expect you to start tracing a loomed wire to who knows where. I've looked at some wiring diagrams and it could be -- although I'm far from sure -- that that wire goes to (or in my case "should go to") the ECM. I'm attaching some more photos that show the wire(s) after I pulled them out of the loom. You can see that the brown wire I'm working on is tied to the another brown wire that goes to the alternator's connector, which perhaps will provide a hint to anyone reading this post in case they know where my missing wire should run to. Also attaching two wiring diagrams that I've managed to find here and there. Looking in there at the ECM and seeing what a chore it will be to get in there and pull the many wires connecting to it to see if there is a brown wire running to Pin 24 is a daunting task for me. I'm not as young as I used to be (who is) but I'm in my late 60s and working in this heat like a contortionist all the while sweating like a pig is a bit much for me. For what it's worth I took the truck to my local GM dealer for a look see but that turned out to be a huge waste of time and money. Seems there all the alternator guys working there are young guys who've never worked on a truck older than 5 years. The mechanic they assigned to look at my truck, who I went back into the work area and spoke with directly didn't even know what a Tech2 was for crying out loud. Anyway, enough whining. If anyone reading this has any ideas whatsoever I sure would appreciate hearing from you.
Again, StonePicker1, my deep appreciation -- you're willingness to help is above and beyond! It'll come back to you, I'm sure ....
