Is this a new to you generator? Do you have any experience with military generators? Have you had this generator running yet? Lots of questions need to be answered to reply to your request.

What else would I need to auto start my generator when the power goes out?
Sounds like you desire a fully automatic power backup system utilizing a Remote Start, an ATS and your MEP.
I offer a complete system to use with a low cost ATS. Besides being a complete system it also has WiFi connectivity so you can monitor all the MEP operating parameters live (gauge readings) without venturing outside.

What do you consider a low cost ATS? Which ATS do you recommend

The bundle includes an additional card and wire harness to monitor utility power, command the Remote Start to start and stop the generator as needed and control the Generac ATS.

It sounds like you are trying to do this without an ATS? That would be very bad as there are too many ways that could backfeed to the grid. Not to mention illegal.

No iam not. I just wanted to make sure what I need. I thought I wouldn't need the extra ATS control card. Do you have a mep? How's your setup?

I have 2 002's and one 003. Mt setup is I have a manual lockout in the panel and I go out to to start the machine. That way I know for sure it has oil pressure, it is running at the proper frequency and there are no other issues. I also go out and check on the unit every half hour to hour to be sure there have been no oil leaks turn up and that the vent louvres are open. In my case the machines are 45 years old. In your case it is only the next generation so probably 25-30 years old. These machines were not designed to be completely hands free. I remember Guyfang saying he slept on top of one of them. Now THAT is serious monitoring!!!
