Took me three hours to do the First Eave purlin on the second section. Mostly cause I changed plans and tried to use the ladder on the ground...and it aint small. 20ft..... extends to maybe 35ft? Lean style not A frame. Had in leaning on truck. What a huge waste of time. Went back to the idea of moving truck to the edge.. FIGHT it into place. It was a huge brawl of a fight at that. Well until I figured out the magic process. Opposite side took all of 10 mins once I found the magic. .

In build of section three...... didn't have to Lean top Arch to add legs. Was overthinking it, when posted yesterday. Plan became- build the top Arch including middle legs by resting End header on roof top and affixing parts on that.... w/ middle legs hanging off the truck, which is what have been doing all along..... But this time Cherry Picker-ed it up high enough to install bottom most legs FIRST before anything else. THEN.... started to affix purlins. Mistake on section two was .. leave it hanging little lower.. Do few of of the purlins BEFORE adding bottom legs. Never said I was smart.

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be Wash Rinse repeat of today.... but hopefully lot quicker.

PS- Im exhausted and Mr. Arthur Ittus is rather mad at me. Though have to admit.. having three helpers has been a blessing. One Asian, One Russian, and one Turk. Their names are .... Mr. Mee, Mr. Myselv, and Mr. Aigh

UPDATE- Grrrrr...... Thursday's Tomorrow.... IT RAINED.

was Windy as Shiat too. In a 30 min window between rain/wind got the End Header switched out like have done earlier. Replaced with Cable header. (only cause weather man said wind was winding down well below the 40mph gust). Also disassembled a bit the cherry Picker again so could jockey over to the edges on the NEW tomorrow (Friday) for installing the side Eave Purlins. Also rotated Second Section Ridge Beam Purlin. Had it installed facing wrong way. Easy Peasy.

New Tomorrow became Friday

SMACK DOWN... grrr

Anyone got a source for an end wall. Appears one I have with the man door that may be beyond usable. its ripped up pretty badly. Just discovered this yesterday afternoon

PS- started working on video editing. Its going to be a Stubborn mess.

Everyone Vote tomorrow. This one vote is potentially world changing. The two choices..
1. Revive our Democratic Representative Constitutional Govt. to empower "We the People" to responsibly maintain Civility, Dreams and Goals of Citizens... or
2. Move USA on to an Oligarchy that will take responsibility over civility, via Socialist form of govt.

ohhh... and btw... anyone got some ideas on how to attatch wall tarps to a spreader bar? Am thinking a 16ft 2x6 with 1"? hole drilled in the ends to fit an LMTV shackle. Would rather 17ft or longer... but that is not available around here.

Plan thus far is..
> Spreader bar across tarp; affixed to tarp just beyond the center / beyond the peak's three grommets.
> Cherry picker... (put it back up on truck box top after voting and grocery shopping) placed with:
A. boom facing outward toward a side of frame/ truck... the boom just beside the 8ft (center) of two sections. Boom head raised to be above peak height.
B. Cherry picker's boom head placed couple feet behind the ridge beam facing a tarp on ground outside the frame.
C. Cherry Picker tied down to all corners box and tied down so not wanting to tilt, sway ,rock or even fart.

> pull up one 16' end of wall with winch am putting on Cherry Picker (5500lb winch.... Cherry picker is at minimal a 3ton-ner)
> Put two of the Peak Grommets in place over their perspective Peak Spike (cant reach the third unless can find some help to hold a ladder or move truck) .
> Once it is hanging on its own from peak grommets.
> Unstrap then disassemble the Cherry Picker... (for the uptenth milltioth time. Will be heavier with winch on it though) and position truck so can undo the spreader bar from the tarp at the far end.
> while there tug the far end center grommet over its Peak Spike. Have heard this may be easier said than done.
> Reposition truck so can undo spreader bar from other end via standing on truck as well.
> Reposition truck so cherry picker little further toward not yet Tarped side, YET CPickers total height in low position is still NOT greater than the height of the frame nearby it. (protects tarp from laying on sharp edges of Cherry Pikcer....
> via a (different spreader bar?) attached at mid spot or lower?? of wall portion that needs to be pulled overtop still. Also other ropes hanging down along the raised tarp.
> pull up that spreader bar/tarp.. just beyond peak and tie off with Slip Knots to frame. ropes need to hang low enough to grasp from the ground.
> Move truck to outside of frame; centered on tarp just raised...
> Reassemble the Cherry Picker... (for the uptenth milltioth and one time).
> winch line gets attached to the hanging ropes not yet used, Snug Winch Line. (NOT the slip knot ones. )
> pull slip Knots (and pray they slip free) releasing that spreader bar tied to frame/attached to remaining tarp material
> lower that half of tarp with the winch to the ground.
> Unstrap then disassemble the Cherry Picker... (for the uptenth milltioth and second time)
Wash Rinse Repeat for next 16ft span of tarp

what size rebar for the two stakes on each leg? quick measure seems hole is 3/4.. but that was ruff measure. Steel on aluminum (galvanic issues)?? Am guessing 5/8 or 1/2 Rebar. 3ft w/6" bent to a 90degre? . Maybe a gob of Anti Seize?? or even wraps of electric tape just before final smack home?

Someday will put Composite Decking board? under the whole base Purlin and clamp that Purlin to it. Along with holes to still stake it down. This way can pull it like a giant sled (with additional supports in places to a new spot after fix skid steer and can clear more properly. Kinda like how Amish move buildings with tractor.

Did you look at the first picture in this post? you roll up the sections into the center and then use rachet straps to hold the tarp together.

Get the tarp rolled up and then lift to 3/4 height on one side. Put tarp holes in pins.

Try and pull over top of frame to the other side using tie down ropes on canvas.

Get friends over and buy them beers with some extension ladders to help

So hook the Eaves pins in first (first pins before peak)? Then go for the peak ones.... that would reduce wind issues... had batted that option around.

Friends helping.... been trying for that for various things for 4 years and offered barter, pay, etc... total fail.
Must be because...........

Reality.. sounds crazy but last 30+yrs out of 50 in my career slowly disallowed forming friends with any Adult connections you may come across associated with the business. Since lived and breathed my career.... Friends. few and far between exist.

well on second thought maybe. Remember; crane. (Cherry Picker) situation here is working from UNDER the frame and not the outside of it and anything that has to be reached, must be reachable from roof of box or cab without moving truck, till the tarp is holding itself up (and Cherry Picker disassembled)

When Losing Becomes Winning / It's All Perspective.

Losing- As reported- One end cover tarp-- badly torn..
Losing- Maximum-ish 500 bucks to fix/ Minimum around 350 bucks??
Winning- Very first bundle of tarps unpacked had this in it..... giving time to start looking
Winning- 2 options found and on the table to deal with it
Winning- Got next bundle moved to field and unpacked. Second end piece right on top of the bundle!! Unpacked it... its a win.. She is in real good condition.

So far Three to Two, puts things with Win's ahead....:clinto:

About to start unpacking next wall/roof Tarp. Will keep you posted.

Place your bets.... :carnac:Pretty good, Usable, Minor Repair, complete :poop: ....

PS- Vote today your decision is between
A. Keep (yet de centralize a bit) our Democratic Constitutional Representative form of Gov., Keeping "We the People's" Votes to strongly matter.
B. Move country to a governance of Oligarchs pulling strings of a Socialist form of managing "We The People." Vote system becoming just a symbolic action that has no value beyond that.
