Boy this summer has been busy with other projects, but I have the 275 tank now next to the generator (roughly 6ft of separation), everything seemed to be running good, I went to warm it up just now and I have a little sprinkle of diesel coming from the fuel bowl, Shut it down.. and came inside to order a new seal kit, Thank to @CallMeColt for providing those! Colts Fuel Bowl Kit and then decided to get a new wix filter while i am there, so once those show up, time to swap them out for winter and be ready to go.

Got the Genny back and running like a top! I first got the wrong size belt which was giving me some fits, went and found a seller on eBay with this belt, now that I know it works I'll pick up another for spare.

Everything seems to be hooked up and running, let it spin for about 30 minutes to see how it did, at first on startup the charge meter pinned to the top and I got concerned and then it started to work its way down and came to rest at +8, throwing a volt meter on the jump plug it was reading 27.9 so I figured good enough!

Should be ready to go in case the power company decided to cut out power this summer for some road construction, or this winter again.
EDIT: I read wrong, sorry . ORIGINAL So the belt wasn't turning the alternator as it should have & wasn't making a squeal? That means it's likely your water pump wasn't running either. As long as it wasn't run for a prolonged time, you'll be fine. Do a nice long load test to be sure all is well.

One on EBay for about $200

There are other 24V 40A alternators available, but might take some drilling/rewiring. YMMV...
Looks like I have been selling mine way to cheaply if they are going for that much. Oh well, as long as I'm making money.

Those suckers are getting spendy, But I dropped a new one in, with the correct belt length everything is running fine, I did pick up a couple of garage/shop heaters like you have and ran those for a solid 6hrs and occasionally changed the load on it as well, it seems like everything is running pretty good, I do seem to lose alittle coolant out of the over-flow bottle but I am not to concerned, as long as I top it off here and there we should be good.
