I've had a couple of run-ins like that, too.Guess it depends on who/how it was assembled the last time it was apart! I had the rear axles with LH and RH on the same side and the 105 was swapped left to right. Makes for a confusing time removing things for the first itme
It's true cause the way the wheels spin on the left side. On the rear the lugs sit flat on the wheel and would spin off.An old-timer once told me it was a way to keep the nuts from loosening during use. Don't know if it's true or not, or how it works.
Some old cars had the same setup, like my dad's old '51 studebaker.
