I know many that get less than 250 miles a year for numerous years. If the vehicle went into equipment concentration site or MATES or some other storage program, you will have very few miles on a vehicle. I would say it's correct.

Now it is at my dad's place out in the country. I asked him to go out and get the number. But it is a M1009. I am waiting to see if the frame can be fixed before I order the SF97. The orginal VIN from GL was way off. I will just drive out this weekend and check the VIN myself and see if I can get the other numbers too.

I think I see your original concern. You mileage is NOT 65909, that is the manufacturer cage code number. The milelage is 10,006 miles. I understand you now have around 13,000 on the truck. That is most likely correct.

Gauges are replaced by the military all the time. Are they suppose to document it--yes. Do they--rarely. Who are you going to sue?

There was a thread on this website about a year ago discussing this exact same issue of how few miles military vehicles get. Talk about low mileage, there were some 900 series trucks that were on pre-po ships that were built in the late 90's and the onel with the highest mileage was a whopping 523 miles!!

You started slinging some mud about folks not being honest here. I agree, I think many of the old timers here remember issues I had with a specific member who stole $279 in equipment from me. It happens but this site has be fairly good at policing their own (my opinion).

In this specific case, I don't think it's the case. I think you transposed the manufacturer number for the mileage. I can't help the way the spacing for numbers get pasted onto the webpage. If I went behind myself each time and made sure everything was listed just perfectly, I wouldn't be able to do this service because of time constraints. So it is up to the folks that get the information to carefully read and know what they are reading. The cage code number converter webpage link is posted in my initial post for this thread. I like the new website but the old website did allow the cut and paste to work better without the numbers 'mis-aligning'. Whatever.

I got a PM this morning from the person that sold you the truck wondering how you/I came up with 65909 for the mileage. Very simple, it isn't 65909 mileage, it's 65909 cage code. That's the only reason that I've come back to revisit this thread.

A mistaken rush to judgement was made based on lack of careful reading. No permanent harm done.

Thanks - You advised the mileage was 6,073 in the info from Sep '04. When I picked the truck up this past Monday it only had 6,700 miles. After 104 mile trip home, she only has 6,804 miles on her.

Not many miles on the truck for the last 5 years.

Are the miles really that low or did they fat finger the input or by error entered the miles at engine change???

The odometer only read 87 when I picked it up, although I added another 600+ driving it home. However, the engine hours read 1522, so I figure it's either the slowest deuce in the world, or they replaced or reset the odometer but not the engine hours? It was a Tooele Army Depot rebuild, Not sure how I report the mileage when I title it, I guess I go off what's on the odometer. Thanks for the help Carnac, going online to contribute now
