2009 vin info thread

I'm not sure you can help me with this, but I only have the info that GL gave me in the paper work. I am not able to be at the truck until I plan to go pick it up, and will need insurance before then.

No, you have no information here to identify the specific vehicle you have. I need a serial number, perferably from the frame.

I suspect it's one of these three but no way of know for sure based on the info provided.

This is a true M36 longbed, the engine is an OA331 gasser. The axle stampings seem to indicate '53ish? Early f speed no OD

After seeing how cool these trucks look bobbed, I decided I had to buy one and bob it. However, after driving it for the past week it's really starting to grow on me just like it is. Anyway, I plan to use it in my wrecker service as an off road recovery vehicle.

If you plan to ever modify it, I would say sell it and buy a different deuce for modification. The reason for this is you have an M35A2C W/W. That is not as common as other types. Not sure how many were made but it is significantly less than the other standard wheelbase cargo versions. Don't get me wrong, don't try to take it to egay and post it as rare for $20,000 bin. But there are so few that if you modifiy it, that makes it one fewer of the few.

serial number and vin are the same thing.

you will have to send a pm to david doyle and he might be able to help with the year and who manufactured it for that year.

The main thing is a dropside with winch is somewhat more rare than the standard trucks. You truck was manufactured that way. It is easy to install one after the fact (either the winch or the dropside bed) but to have it manufactured that way makes it an original. David Doyle could also probably tell us how many were made.
