CDR valves - Whos got em?

I can't find a CDR valve anywhere.. not even a civvy one. Not on rockauto. Not at a GM dealer. Parts chains. Nowhere. Anyone still selling these things?

Sorry, may be I'm stupid. I drove a CUCV truck 16 years. But what do you mean with a CDR valve? I think I know almost any valve in these trucks, at least their function. May be I know that valve in German, but the abriviation I do not know.

It stands for crankcase depression regulator. Basically, it sucks the blowby out of your crankcase with a light vacuum into your intake (that's my understanding). When they don't work, your intake starts sucking oil through it, or your crankcase builds up pressure and leaks everywhere. The CDR valve sits on the passenger side valve cover on an M1009. It looks like a brass tuna can.

The Civilian 6.2 Diesel had one and I'm sure it would work. The mount will be slightly differnet use black zip ties!?

Most of the time if you don't "break it" you can clean it and it will work forever...

Used WD-40 to soak the CDR Valve and the Oil Tube Filler Cap.
Both are freed up now and work. I re-soak both parts once a year!​

I believe that the CDR Valve is not working,
that the oil filler tube cap has a venting function
for this reason as a back up - the civilian 6.2 oil filler cap
was flat with no venting capabilities...
Shake the oil tube cap it should rattle freely!

You could contact the company & confirm, but it clearly says 'CDR Valve' a.k.a., 'Tuna Can', and that it is for 6.2's 1988-1992 & 6.5 1992-2002 -

Hmm.... also says to replace it a 30k mile intervals, like you would a PCV valve...

remove it completely, clean with WD40 (Fog real good), reinstall, operate.

This may seem silly, but to clean parts with rubber in them, wouldn't it be better to use brake cleaner? I have been using it for years to clean any parts consisting of rubber, and then usually I will spray them off with silicon oil to add some protection. Makes them look pretty as new usually.
