what besides money would one need to add a fifth wheel to a 816?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Hmm.... Maybe I could sell the wrecker off my M819, when I BOB it!
I have to agree with MD308 here. I mean, that's such a monumental task and you have to ask yourself what you will gain out of it? You'll have an 819 with a rear winch. You have a very uphill battle. This is akin to saying "I own a Kenworth bus, what will it take to turn it into a Mack fire engine?"
Save your $$$, and buy the real thing. It isn't worth the headache to convert.
I assumed since he already has an M816 which has a rear winch that he wanted both, a rear winch and a 5th wheel-otherwise, why would you just not sell the 816 and buy an 819?I haven't seen anything from the OP stating that he wanted the rear winch to remain after the conversion (or maybe he does, I don't know)
I would say to sell the M816 and find a M819 instead if that's what you want. I know where at least one is here in CO that would be available for sale, although it's a project vehicle, not a runner.

Joe
