I agree, and once you have seen the difference, it would be hard to not agree. I'm glad you have a full system and are happy with it.

That propane cylinderr contains LIQUID PROPANE if turned upside down you will be getting liquid propane . Liquid will be introduced into the combustion chamber were it changes state into vapor.Problem with using propane is that the density of propane vapor is greater that air . ( Air =1 Propane vapor =1.5 ) If your engine does not start or you have a leaking valve you could fill the crankcase with propane vapors, that could explode upon ignition (starting) the engine . Instanly removing the oil pan !!!!! Have a great day and be safe !!![thumbzup]

Dave:

It is metered dose... It will not get any more than 6ccs of propane or any other liquid. I should of tried MAPP while I was at it.

Faulty valve would be a risk with anything including ether.

I have experienced this happening with a Cat D8 remved the oil pan !!! Ether and Mapp lighter density than air they will rise and evaporate , Propane is heavier and will collect in the crankcase !!! 30 years experience with Propane have 8 million gallons on hand !!!Just be safe it will frostbite , boils at - 44 F !!! Makes me appreciate the intake heater system..... When it works, it's just a shot of diesel fuel and no replacing ether cans. The measured shot system does have its advantages over shooting it in the air intake..... too much ether and you have a dead diesel, as they really don't like ether all that much. What I have never figured out is how the deutz diesel make do without ether and start without glow plugs or other aids down to -20*F ((Air cooled FL912-4), whereas the American diesels seem not to be able to function at low temperatures without assists.....? I guess after the trip to Moscow in WWII, their engineers just figured winter happens?

Its all in the design of the engine. We used to have a Deutz 7085 tractor on the farm so I know what your talking about. Might have something to do with the compression ratios as well??????
