Well, got some simple fixes done to the deuce.

1. Drive link bolts between the transfer and transmission were lose. Put the TC in nertural, used 2 wrenchs 3/4" tightened it
up.
2. Transmission filled to hole, drained, and refilled
to one kuncle. FYI a 1/2 breaker bar non racheting wrench works perfect
to remove plugs. Used a hand pump from harbor frieght. Also, did the transfer case.
3. Removed inspect plate on the front of the transmission and hit that grease fitting.
4. Found that the emergency valve was opened...by whom I don't know. So I am adding this to the preflight check list.
5. Pumped fuel out of the primary fuel
drain. probally 2-3 quarts.
6. Tighten up the steering gear box bolts.

All of these items where brought to my attenition from reading posts.

Going to order a new air govenor and replace the old one. It's keeping my psi at 120.

Good catch. That is really one of the over looked items. Was going to go for a ride on this nice sunny day and started my preflight and found a wheel cylinder leak on the right front. Oh well, I needed to check the wheel bearing and brake shoes anyway.

So I installed the air governor awhile ago. I remember the Tm said to set the pressure at 100 PSI. However I like the feel of my brakes at 120.

Any thought on what PSI the airpack likes or works best?

In TM 9-2320-361-20 it says that 85 - 120 is considered correct. Mine came set at 120 from the military. Don't have any reason to think it should hurt anything.

Cool, I was at 110 and now I am going back to 120. Thanks Bob

Truck runs great and I really enjoy working on it. I spend more time wrenching than driving.

Yep. I plan to replace my speedometer cable this weekend and maybe the parking brake cable too. This summer I will replace the parking brake shoes and fix the spotty rust. Then a repaint of the whole truck.

Check the speedometer connection at the transfer case. Mine was loose I cleaned it up and retightened everything. Good to go
