Good Eve. folks I noticed a while back when my search for new Data Plates for my M-35A2 began there seemed to be some rather mixed experiences with David Kolone's company? Well that aside I ordered a complete set of these plates from David I recieved them this afternoon, I just wanted to let you folks know they were delivered in a timely manner and the quality of the plates is beautiful, I am very happy to report I had NO problems and he delivered a very good looking quality product to me! I am very happy with his work! BUT just wanted everybody to know MY experience with him and his company!

David recently purchased the company from Dan Parmely. I think now that David has it, the customer service delays will all but be gone.

The "new" MVdataplates.com is 100% better than the old one. David K is a great guy, and once he gets everything all sorted out and inventoried, life will be good! He recently emailed me about a dataplate I had been looking for for quite some time. He remembered I wanted it, emailed me, I paid him, it appeared in the mail a few days later. Cant ask for better than that!

I went to the site looking for other plates such as the PTO operations data plate and others, but could not find anything.

Anyone know of a source? My plates all have paint on them, and even though I have gotten some of it off, they are in poor condition.

David Kelone has NOT solved his customer service issues. He ran me around for 4 weeks and never shipped the plates. For $20.00 shipping he could have driven them to me. When I tried to get him to ship he gave me an attitude like the delay was my fault. Fortunately I paid with PayPal and got my money back. If this jerk is for real he needs to go to the Post Office and learn how to ship from his home. I simple flat rate envelope would have done it.

I strongly suggest you think twice before you give him your money. He's a clown!

Yes, I could "ask" that he reply to an email or at least be able to sell me something he just sold someone else a few days before.

And "recently" is a relative word - I've been trying to get data plates from him all year.

Glad to see that SOME people are getting good service and the product they want. OTHERS are not.

M27brat does not tell quite all of the story. I explained to him that I had just returned from 3 weeks on the road going to the Red Ball Show, the Alliance OH show, and traveling from IL to NC to MD to PA, etc to buy plates. To add to the away time I was enroute to the Knob Creek Shoot on the next day after his order was received(10/5). Following the shoot I had mules to pick up in MI before coming home. He was told that I would not be shipping quickly initially & at least twice later. Never did he ask for a refund but proceded to file a dispute with paypal(11/2). I refunded his money within minutes of receiving his complaint. In his order he was charged $5 for flat rate postage and $20 for stamping his plate order.

I admit that I am slower than normal at present but I am working to clean up the backlog. I have not been here to handle the stamping, sorting, & shipping chores. Now that the show season is over I can get things cleaned up. I am a one man band but not a clown or a jerk.

I have several orders outstanding at present & am workiing on getting them out asap. Thanks for your patience and if you prefer a refund just let me know.

Dug, I do not recognize your name but will PM you to see where this problem lies.

my experience with David Kelone has been excellent, I have met him, he is for real . But, he has had to take over a business that lost touch with it's customers for a long time. Dave is a Mule (M274) man 1st and foremost, he has a heck of a reputation in that world. he bought the Data Plate company so that it would not be lost to all of us forever. Maybe Dug ought to contact David again and get off to a new start. Dave's doing us more of a favor than we are doing him, he'll never make his investment back in his lifetme. Are there any other people out there making new Data Plates? Anyone making Data Plates for your bobbed deuces? DK is. JT out, 3 of my original XM35A4 trucks from years past

MV Data plates was quite the mess when David bought it. I know David and his business keeps him on the road for weeks at a time. It's the nature of surplus dealers. I think if you give him a little extra berth, you will be pleased in the end. Sometimes the better things in life take more time!

Nice try David. When we spoke on the phone you told me you had the plates in your hand and you described them to me. You also said you would be gone for a "couple of days" and you would send the plate s "next week". I believe we spoke on a Wednesday. If you were so "busy" why did you take my money and sit on it for over 4 weeks. You are a scammer. If you have a business then you take care of business. I still warn others to be very careful of your games. I for one will find other sources. As a matter of fact, I am thinking of a way to create the brass like plates my self. If it works, I will sell them and you can be sure I will ship in the same month someone pays me. If the claim with PayPal upsets you, too bad. Exactly what did you do through out this transaction that would lead me to believe you would actually issue a refund on my request.

Good luck with your business endeavors. You won't get any endorsements from me.

David made me a custom plate for my bobbed deuce and furnished me with every NOS plate imaginable to replace all the old ones on my deuce sometime around Labor Day; from order date thru delivery was probably 10 days at most and this included MAKING SURE [several phone calls initiated by him and follow-up emails] he got all my #'s correct for my custom plate!!
These negative comments about Dave sure don't fit my opinion of him; he's a great resource for all of us.

Wow after reading the post above that was being written at the same time as mine, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to believe we're talking about the same person!!

Sure wish I knew how to get those BIG A** LETTERS in my post to make them stand out!!!

Kenny, you have a lot nicer way of saying things than I do, for sure. But, they just don't seem to hear what we are saying. JT out

I recently ordered a full set of data plates for a bobbed deuce and they arrived within a few days.

I am happy with the service I received.

By the way; David, I need another full set for the bobbed truck I'm working on now, PM me!

Maybe Dug ought to contact David again and get off to a new start.

Sure, I'm not an "old timer" so it's on me to try for the 7th or 8th time. I have no idea about any of his other dealings, but I can tell you where three phone calls and multiple emails have gotten me - nothing. So it doesn't matter if anyone else is making or selling them - if I can't get a reply after a year, what's the difference? Nothing is nothing no matter where you get it.

If it hadn't been for the most recent "whiner" thread, I wouldn't have heard from him at all. (no offense meant to any possible whiners - I quoted for effect)

So I have replied to his PM like JT suggests, since I'm the newbie and he is the old timer.

I gotta know one thing - and PB or WM or any of the other retired NCOs can answer - is this how it works in the civilian word shipmates? I gotta a feeling I'm not gonna like retirement one little bit.
