Over 50 MVCC Units at Denver Airshow

True dat, we probably only had about 90-100 MV's from one club.

I'm checking on this number of vehicles. I have a call into the Arlington Airshow Management to verify. If it's true, I'll say nothing more about it. That is huge number of vehicles for one event, from one Club. Why didn't you Guys take photos and post them here like 70Deuce did?

I'm impressed, alot of cool vehicles, sorry must have missed that thread . Still, I don't see where this was just one Club. I read in the thread, general invitations going out to interested people, a planned convoy that became part of the Airshow, but not one single Club is putting their name on it. Every vehicle in our show was owned by a dues paying member, some members brought as many as four vehicles. Again, if there were 90-100 MV's from one single Club of dues paying members, I'll shutup. I hate second place, but I'll take it. All in all, that's an impressive amount of green toys. We'd just like the distinction of having the most vehicles at one event by one Club.....for now.

Yea im not sure of the whole club thing, i was invited from this site by stalwart. but the vehicles were there. it was awesome. next year i'll have a actual display and maybe just maybe another truck.

Yep......One father and son team in the MVCC brought out 4 trucks, 3 trailers and a GP small tent with many display items for the event.......What was their names again? Oh that's right. It was Big Bob and his son Johnny. Or Oldfart and Jollyroger as were known here on SS.

Like Steel and Canvas said. I don't like second place. So next year Dad and I are pushing the button, pulling out all the stops......We may even have mom bring her equipment. But I digress.

On a serious note I really appreciate what the MVCC does for events. I have always felt welcome and am glad to help in any way I can. As much work as this event was I still find it to be very rewarding because of how much fun all the MVCC members are. Just a good bunch of people. Thank you all again.

Thanks Johnathan. We just try and contribute the best we can and figure the rest will fall into place. I am very happy that the "hobby" and participation in the MVCC gives me time with my Dad, Mom and Tracie doing things we enjoy. It is also wonderful to find like minded people that enjoy life. I really look forward to the future. And tell the prez I will always be workin' on the paint on my self proclaimed farm trucks just because HE wants me to.

We were suprised that the M-220 has the provenace that it does. Working on the Yuma Proving Grounds for close to 50 years and all the projects it participated in.......At first we were just gonna paint it green and call it a shop truck. We have just hit the tip of the iceberg as far as history of that truck. And then how lucky were we to have bought a 1956 M-105 that fits perfectly behind the 1955 GMC..... I would rather be lucky than good.

I can't guarantee that we will find something like that for every event but we are ALWAYS lookin' for something cool. I gotta get a lowboy trailer to pull behind my M-818 so I can go get the really cool stuff. You know. stuff with tracks........ Then again artillery is cool too. I'm just sayin'.

Thanks for insinuating I'm a liar. So your going to drop it if it's true and bash me if you "think" it isn't . . . NICE! We had 4 clubs in attendance but the VAST majority of the vehicles are from the PSMVCC.

I hope we don't have the misfortune to meet at the MVCC Tower Park event in April 2011. No threat intended, I just don't want to see you.

When you get the information you'll have to add the EMVC to the PSMVCC because the former is a subset of the latter (ALL EMVC members are also PSMVCC members, I wrote EMVC on my form). The PSMVCC has about 90 paid members with over 300 vehicles. Just one member and myself were responsible for 10 vehicles in attendance. BTW, one of our members has a Atomic Annie practice round, so much for cornering the atomic angle.

We did post photos, you just didn't see them.

You didn't leave Tracie out. She's just short...........Don't tell her i said that. She's short but mighty.

She has been on two recoveries with us and really enjoys the adventure. She is fully qualified to drive the M-35 and the M-817. She likes the trucks but did not feel she found one that was her size till I got the M-37 out of the weeds. I might have lost that truck to her. We shall see. I have my eye on a smaller truck that she might like too. Just gotta work a deal for it.

OH!.........Let me just say I don't know you and you don't know Johnathan. He's a great guy as I'm sure you are. We all enjoy MV's so we all have a lot in common without meeting each other.

So from that point we can say that I think you threw the first stone with regard to measuring up. Johnathan was just proud of our achievements. And he wanted to compliment the MVCC accordingly. Then you went and stepped on our achevments by demonstrating overshadowing numbers rather than demonstrating an acknowedgement of our acheivements and adding your own in a buddie to buddie manner. You went the competitive route totally unsolicited and on your own. It's not so much what you said but the way you went about saying it.

We don't think we have the market cornered on nukes. That's rediculous. It was just another fun piece of equipment that we get to play with from time to time. Here you are again trying to go competitive rather than saying that stuff is cool. Wish I got to play with that.

So here. I'll go first. I wish I got to play with the tactical nuke practice shell you guys have. That's pretty sweet. And you have a V-100 and some other stuff with tracks. That is way cool and I aspire to have stuff like that someday. So if we meet up someday I would like to buy you a beer and talk about stuff with tracks.

WOW! Did I hit a nerve? I guess I should have used some smily faces in my post. Nobody came out and called you a liar, just a questioning of the facts. First you come out and said "150 vehicles", I responded with "one club?" Maybe 90 to 100 was the response, responding to the "one club" question. Now you state it was a culmination of four Clubs, and that you and a friend were responsible for 10 vehicles. This started out as a nice thread, sharing accomplishments of our Club with this board. I doubted you, so what, now you don't want to meet me? You can't imagine how much that hurts me. I would like to meet you, and if you had anything to do with the planning for that event, congratulate you on your sucess and hard work. Our faux thermo-nuclear device, wasn't an "angle", and was loaned to us by a local museum. My apologies if I offended you. Truce?

Our faux thermo-nuclear device wasn't faux. How many guys can say that his M816 had the privledge to pick up a real, although demilled, Mk 7 Thermo Nuclear Bomb. I can, thanks to the great guys at MVCC.

It still stands at 150 MV's for Arlington. I re-read the first post and I see that I misunderstood the first time. I understood your claim to be the biggest event but now it see it was your clubs biggest event, my apologies. Since it was required by statements above that only ONE clubs vehicles be counted, I tossed out 50-60 vehicles that came from the other clubs and hence the 90-100 count. It took over 10 years before the Arlington event got to it's current size, the first year we had perhaps 3 vehicles. Getting 50 MV's together is a great accomplishment, my congratulations!

Regarding women and MV's, some seem to like them VERY much. My wife at one time owned 3 but has since been cut down to 2 1/2, she and I share the HEMTT as she told me I "must buy it". The only down side to the female and MV thing is that often they only want to drive them, not to work on them too much. Since my wife only owns armor, I still insist she help me with any heavy lifting but I get all the relly messy work to myself.

Thank you for your congatulations. I gladly accept it. The main guys at the MVCC have been working very hard to boost membership and participation at events. Dad and I brought all the equipment we did cause we are new to the club and need to earn our stripes so to speak. It's not required and we know that but we like to pull our own weight......And we are not light weight guys. I'm just sayin'. We also enjoy driving the trucks and showing them to the GP. It would have been nice to not have two flats and a tire tread come apart but that's part of the business.

I have made mistakes reading posts and have had to go back and say oops I missed that. It happens.

My lady Tracie likes the trucks but does not like to work on them. I suppose I can't have everything. At least she does not tell me I can't have them. And she likes to drive them so that's a plus. It could always be worse.

BTW your Arlington event sounds like a real good show. I would love to see that sometime.

And if I do I would like to find you and buy you a beer and have a good laugh about this. Oh yeah. And talk about stuff with tracks.

How long did it take you to change the flat? You guys were all GONE when I got back for my 'second load' of vehicles.

See, I'm one of those guys who brought FOUR. "Because DEAR, it's my one chance during the year to show off MY TOYS to the club and the rest of the world". Believe me when I tell you, when I ever take more than ONE, the wife and I always have THAT conversation. I don't know why. SHE KNOWS I'M NOTHING BUT A BIG KID. I ADMIT IT TO THE WORLD. Why would anyone think my wife doesn't know this? She's the one who gives me the money FOR my MV's.

I now do CUCV's because me and the city of Denver got into it over my parking a deuce in my driveway. I won the court case. But in the process a buddy of mine bought the deuce. So I went with CUCV's the second go around. I don't need 'Soldier B' nearly as much. And the mid eighties design is the one I LIKE A LOT. I've own six Suburbans of that model era. Including one 6.2L Banks turbo diesel. It puked it's rear main seal. A LONG time ago.

I really don't like to repost pix, so here is the OTHER post 70deuce started that I added sixteen pix to. If you look at pix #5 you will see three of my CUCV's - the fourth one belongs to another club member. Plus what you can't see is the M101A2 trailer. Must be the camo netting...

And I'm kind of the low man on the multiple vehicle totem pole. As we have one member who owns seven deuces at the last count.

Here is one of the meals we ate. First two pix are of the ladies who cooked and served and these are BY NO MEANS all that cooked. This is only ONE MEAL. Saturday lunch we served chicken and beef fajitas, tacos, beans, rice, guacamole, etc...

OH, AND I FINALLY GOT TO USE MY FIFTY GALLON PORT-A-FILLER!!! It makes a great cooler. OK, it's NOT insulated. But it IS on wheels (I bent one of the wheels supports, so I'm going to buy some kind of 'off road' wheel with air in the tires). Being on wheels meant that the top of the cooler was even with the end of the MKT's walkway. We loaded that baby up with at least four to six cases of soda and three or four cases of water. THEN filled it up with six bags of ice. Every time they added ice, they drained the cooler by pulling the plug. We saved it in a twenty five gallon plastic container and had 'non-potable' water for all sorts of things. It was a win/win all the way around. Just gotta replace the wheels and we'll be good to go for the next event.
