O.R.D. 4" Lift

Today the man in Brown showed up with my first a few packages from O.R.D. Off Road Design. The packages will contain my new 4" lift I ordered. I can tell you I am very impressed with the quality of the few parts that have arrived. So far I have received The rear shackle flip kit and the greaseable bushings and bolts for those. Front Heavy duty shackles and greaseable bushings/ bolts. Front Dana 60 U bolt kit. I also ordered the rear Corporate 14 bolt U blot kit that mounts the square pad above the axle thus leaving a clean axle on the bottom. No bolts and nuts to hang down. The square plates are made by O.R.D. and are very stout to say the least. The last little package in the box were the very nice O.R.D. built brake lines. They have a teflon liner followed by a kevlar braid followed by a stainless steel braid which is then coated in a smoked vinyl coating. These things are beautiful. I will call them about having a few sets made for my commercial snowcats. There that nice! So here are the pics. I will post more pictures when the rest of the lift arrives on Monday.

I'm upgrading my M1009 with a corp 14 bolt and Dana 60 right now. I'm also going with 35" tires. I am also putting a reinforcement piece on the frame by the steering box. I'm told it is common for the frame to crack/break there. If the 08's break at the same place you may want to upgrade your's as well.2cents

I will actually be ordering the Weld on steering box brace and also going with the Bolt on Steering Box Brace. These will be in my next few orders. Since all is well up front and no cracks I can wait a bit. The reason for the weld on brace is due to the 37" tires I will be going with. The combination of the weld on and bolt on braces makes the frame bullet proof and you will never have to worry about steering box frame cracks again. I also plan on going with the 2 WD steering box with high steer cross over steering. Again these will come later as this is a weekend warrior project.

Well I kind of thought the truck frames would be a bit stronger, but still thought it was worth mentioning. I just started wheeling my '09 a few months ago. No rock crawling, nothing more daring than a level 6 trail. On a 1-10 scale.

Nice pump! I dont think you will have problems steering with that!

Yes the frames are stronger but suffer from the same problem. It was just a poor design that others have had and fixed. Granted Im sure it was the Rock Crawlers that found this problem out quicker than anyone else. Im not a rock crawler but I will have this truck until the day I die. (Hopefully a very long time from now) When I do kick the bucket it will be handed down to my youngest son who just loves "The Army Truck". I will be building this truck to last and drive very comfortably at highway speeds as soon as I get some different tires that is. Future plans are for a Monster Transmission built 700R4 and an Atlas 4 speed T-case. But those are mods that will come down the road.

Speaking of highway speeds. How does 35" tires and 4.10 gears sound. Compared to the 33" tires and 3.08's I'm getting rid of?
