5ton speedometer adapter on Deuce

I ordered a 5 ton speedometer adapter from a vendor to compensate for my taller tires. Turns out, the two ends (speedometer cable and connection to the transfer case) on my deuce are "male" (male cable ends) , whereas the 5 ton part has a male and a female end.

I thought, ok, maybe I can swap parts around, but only managed to disassemble (and re-assemble!) half of the 5 ton adapter.

Any hints or ideas?

Typically the transfer case end is "female"....

Try gently pulling the "male" drive pin out of the transfer case, it should come out. Normally it stays in the 90 degree adapter.

I'm not sure which is male or female, but if the 5 ton will fit the transfer case maybe use the 5 ton speedometer cable? I've had the adapter off my 5 tons but I can't remember which was which(old timer's diease).

I had tugged on it and it did not move. I will try again with more force.
