Look in the parts manuals and compare the part numbers.

(yes they are the same since the A3 is a rebuilt A2 with new goodies)

That's a relief! Thanks Warthog, you've been a tremendous help. I'm going to buy 3 good used complete dogbones and have some steel welded over them. When I first saw that arm off the rubber, I was flabbergasted that there is no mechanism to hold the arm on besides the pressed rubber!

Looking at the other arms on that axle, they're toast from the axle shifting so much.

Just purchased a 3/4 inch socket set, come along, 12 ton jack for starters.

Now as far as the crushed brake line, any suggestions on replacement?

Make your own. NAPA sells the armored (spring cover) line. That has been how I fixed my brake lines.

You are your own motorpool so it's up to you.

Some of the bigger military surplus parts houses may have a pre-bent line. Memphis, Boyce, Eastern, White Owl, etc

Do you need tube bending tools or is that stuff flexible? Thanks for the suggestions.

Hey one other question, is a gallon of DOT5 enough to bleed to brakes when the system is exhausted?

They sell a green tube that is hand bendable. I have never used it. I always use a tube bender and a flairing tool for the ends.

I have never checked the fluid capacity of the brake system. I just know I have used a bunch of it.

1 quart will normally fill a completely dry system on a M35 and let it be full after bleeding.

You kept being told to get a complete dog bone because the other end of that one is just as old as the end that broke. Get new and don't worry about it again for a few decades.

If you want a takeoff brake line let me know, I've got plenty of parts trucks that should have a good one on it that is already bent to fit.

The -10 says 2 quart reservoir on the master cylinder for the A3s. Still searching around for how much is in the brake lines for a total ststem fill.

To clarify some mis-information.

The M35A3 torque rod (dogbone) IS the same as the M35A2 torque rod.

If you read the M35A3 technical manual is tells you that if the item you are looking for is not listed then you are refered back to the M35A2 manual.

The torque rods are not listed in the M35A3 manaul so you are to refered back to the M35A2 manual where it is listed.

I have not worked on a A3, so if someone can prove they are different then I will gladly change my statement

The 5ton dogbones ARE bigger.

Thanks warthog. It's been pretty confusing, I've heard it both ways. A guy I was going to buy a couple from said he had an A3 guy bring them back saying they won't fit!! I've had several including yourself say they will. I'm just going to get some takeoffs from an A2 and find out :) Thanks for all the help, its surely appreciated.
