    Value of 1986 CUCV M1008

And actually he just informed me that when he bought the truck he bought the plow with it but it had never been installed on that truck specifically. It came off of another truck just like it. So it's barely ever really had the plow on it for an extended period of time and we're the only ones...

    Value of 1986 CUCV M1008

So this is actually the truck that's in my profile. I made this account to help my buddy when he first got it. I would be buying it from him. When he bought the truck from a fire company that used it as a brush truck the glow plug controller had already been removed and they had already mucked...

    Value of 1986 CUCV M1008

I have a good buddy that has the truck mentioned in the title, 55k-ish original miles, off-road tires, manual glow plug system that needs completed, block heater, MinuteMan V-style plow. No weight class identifier, no blackout lights but all circuits work. What's she worth??

M1008 Can you install an intermittent wiper motor

We can't post links for auctions on here but I found this control module on eBay for ~$40. Do a search for "73-87 Chevy Truck Wiper Delay Module Intermittent Wiper Control Box 1984-91 1987" on google or eBay and you will find it.

M1008 Can you install an intermittent wiper motor

You sir (fal_shooter) are a joy to this forum. Nothing like a wise senior member of society still making moves. Sometimes I just get on here to read and it amazes me every time how helpful and kind people on here are in comparison to other forums that I have been apart of. I'll be following this...

CUCV Snow Plow Trucks and Spreaders

I love your attitude. Haha break stuff, fix it, move on. Keep up the good work! Rockin' out with hot coffee in a plow truck is the best.

    24V and/or 6000K headlights?

Legality all depends on the color temperature of the emitted light and the laws of the state that you live in. A cop can't really tell with most headlight bulbs what type they are so they're really just going to look at whether they are an appropriate color. I like to stick around the 4500K...

    24V and/or 6000K headlights?

That's a good thought, I didn't even think of that... I'll have to keep an eye on them and see if they collect moisture, especially after the weather warms up.

    24V and/or 6000K headlights?

Yeah I'll agree that the LED bulbs are the best. They're less sensitive than HIDs (as far as switching high/low and turning on/off) but you still get the same lumen output. I got brand new headlight housings with glass lenses and then installed the bulbs in the lenses rather than buying a sealed...

Need some guidance after a major wiring meltdown

Okay cool that's kinda what I had in mind but wasn't sure. I'll take another look and make sure all looks good. Thanks

Need some guidance after a major wiring meltdown

The 1/4" of play that you described here in the ignition/starter switch- is the play oriented forwards/backwards or in/out? I ask as I had gotten into the steering column of my 08 to clean the horn contacts and replace the turn signal mechanism and it seems that my ignition switch is now...

    Glow Plug Question

It sounds like you have an incomplete 12v conversion.. I would decide what you want your end result to be (12v w/ 1 alt, two 12v isolated w/ 2 alts, or 24v w/ 2 alts) and start from scratch to make it however you'd prefer it to be. This way you can go over every step from the beginning and...

    Glow Plug Question

According to an earlier thread he claims he was reading 24V coming off that POS term board. That would make me think either the single alternator is a 24V charging both batteries or hes got a 12V alt charging one battery which eventually spills over to indirectly charging the other battery...

CUCV Snow Plow Trucks and Spreaders

M1008 w/ MM EZ-V Here's the old girl before winter storm Jonas this past weekend. 86 M1008 with a Minute Mount EZ-V snowplow. Had hydraulic issues with the plow during the storm and had to drop it. I guess that's the next project now that the truck is up and running.

    1009 block heater

I installed mine on the driver's side of the block. They have a pinch style nut that spreads and locks the plug in place inside of one of the freeze plug holes. You have to drain the coolant real good, pop out the freeze plug with a small hammer/chisel (being careful not to knock it or any other...
