    A few stereo install issues

Recently, we hooked up a stereo in my M1009. It's been pretty cheap. Considering I use it mainly in the woods, I didn't want to do anything big. I got everything work and powered up and I noticed a few things: There is a loud electric noise that comes through the speakers as the truck...

    Name your ride

Mostly we call it "The Beast", but since it's got "POLICE" faded on the side, my boss and girlfriend call it Buford, after Buford Puser.

    Re-Wiring horn?

The police department who had mine after the Army had horn trouble. They mounted a button on the metal bracket on the dash. It's funny during the day, but it's annoying when drunk passengers honk it at night.

Thinking about Cab Marker Lights for M1009

Pretty dang good point. I thought about that too, and They'd probably be LED. I've always thought LEDs lasted a while right? You guys can drop the "It's your truck" non-sense. If it's stupid, say "That's stupid." :-D I came on here for your thoughts, not for the "It's your truck". haha...

Thinking about Cab Marker Lights for M1009

I always liked big trucks with cab marker lights, or as I've heard people call them in the south "Chicken" lights. I did a search (for about 10 minutes) and couldn't find where anyone had put them on a M1009. Anyone else try this, or think about it? Pic attached. (They are the lights on top...

    I Got My M1009 Stuck

M1009 Fiend, I did the same dang thing. I had mine for about a month, and we'd been playing in some mud in the woods, so I decided to take on something a little deeper. I was going it through it a little slow and I got high centered. It took just about everything it had for my buddy's 80...

My Bobbed Deuce is almost done

That truck is awesome. I would drive that thing daily, everywhere. A+ build. The sliding rear window is great. I used my sliding rear window in my Chevy pick every time I drove in it. That is one of the things I love about the M1009 (rear window rolls down). Also, the shovel & ax looks...

What insureance do you have on your m1008 0r m1009?

I work for an insurance company (They are the one that's on your side) so yeah, my crap better be covered! :-D I didn't really answer this. I carry Liability and uninsured motorist. I also carry Comprehensive. In Tennessee Comp covers glass breakage, vandalism, fire, theft, and hitting an...

Look what the local Police got!

My buddy calls me and tells me to drive by Chik-fil-a. I was driving by and noticed that they got them a m1009! I'd never seen it before, and apparently they were using them last night on the slick ice roads. I pulled in and took a quick look. Good looking inside! :-D

    m1008

Around here, some dealerships have picked up a few, cleaned them up, and are asking about $5,000.00, and they aren't that special... These trucks are extremely useful, and not to mention MPG efficient! I drove mine to visit my Father in Birmingham over the Holidays (135 miles there) and it got...

How do you start your truck in cold weather

I turn the key, wait for the "wait" light to turn off, and then give it a little fuel while turning it over. Sometimes (it's currently in the teens around here) it takes me two times, and a little smoke comes out, but other than that, I leave it alone for 10-15 minutes (warm up) and hit the...
