M35A3 - Trans Fluid Flush Question & other Filter Maintenance

I know CAT has a big shop just south of the river on the east side of 35W in Burnsville on HWY 13. I will be looking into the Allison shop when I get back to MN in January.

M35A3 - Trans Fluid Flush Question & other Filter Maintenance

Hoefler- Did you flush it yourself or did you find somewhere in the metro that would do it at a reasonable price? Thanks,

M35A3 - Trans Fluid Flush Question & other Filter Maintenance

Thanks everyone. I was tracking the main objective was to reduce the oil level with each flush, but wasn't sure if it would help pull a little extra oil out by doing an extra flush or two with the "used" ATF. I still planned on the 3-4 flushes with new ATF.

    Lurker from Minnesota

Welcome to the club! You may want to go back in and add your city to your profile information before someone 'reminds' you to as well. Are you looking at getting this vehicle from GL or from a private sale?

Have we discussed the M35A3 in the movie "Super 8"

You are correct! Lots of A2 deuce shots in the movie, but in the one scene you are refering to when a number of trucks were rolling by in the background, it was definitely an A3. I backed it up and watched a second time to be certain. Noone else watching it with me cared that I had to point...

    M35A3 leaking fuel near filter

I agree on cleaning things up to pinpoint just what is actually the source of the leak. You will want to drain off a little fuel on a regular basis to check for water (if you follow the -10, it covers that as part of the PMCS). It doesn't sound like anything major at this point, clean it up a...

    Ryno-paint

I have had the line-x on a truck bed and it held up great! This is one of the projects I'm considering for my deuce. At a minimum, I was wanting to do the bed, that metal is way to slippery when wet or icy up in my part of the ocuntry.

M35A3 - Trans Fluid Flush Question & other Filter Maintenance

I'm am strongly considering switching over to trans fluid rather than the motor oil in my truck when I get home. When you do the first flush or two, could you re-use the same trans fluid and then use fresh fluid that last few flushes or would that not be advised? Just considering how to have...

Dueces will have 6 wheels or 10 wheels depending on model... are you looking for a bobbed deuce with only wanting 4?
