    1985 CUCV M1009 Normal Shifting?

I have hard shifting and long gear changes on the another M1009 I started Monday. The shifting on my M1008s are all smooth and (I would say) normally spaced for a diesel. I'm thinking there is too much ATF in it (stick shows too much) and perhaps a clogged filter. I have driven on the hiway...

A few questions before I go pick up my M1009

Unhook the driveshaft, put the transfer case in neutral, unlock the column (don't put it in gear or neutral), don't tie off the steering wheel or the towed truck won't follow you (well).:-D Don't bother with trying to start it - hook up the tow bar and get off the base. Tires - I have six CUCVs...

    New guy in Victoria, TX

Welcome - a couple of things: It is a disease - one year ago, I had trailer. Today I have 6 CUCVs, 1 m715, two trailers and looking for more. Get a really big yard that the neighbors can't see into. Consider camo against air surveillance OPCON and I are in the Big D area. Cheers.

My wife takes some Deuce driving lessons

My ex became very good at spotting OD in the weeds, behind houses, in the country; she even helped dig one out during a Texas summer; buried to the axles. Drives like a bat out of hell - slow traffic, no problem four wheel drive and embankments. Use to scare the crap out of me - off road from...

Thanks for the head's up on he parts, I've sent PMs to several of you. The pump on the front of the truck is connected directly to the front of the crank - definitely not military, but hey, not many of them around!:-D It appears the water needs to recirculate to & from the rear tank while the...

    M715 Parts Wanted

I brought home another mil truck, this time instead of a CUCV I returned with a 1968 M715 in the guise of a VFD Brush Fire Truck.:-D She runs and drive and has a 500GPM pump driven off the crankshaft. Couple of questions and requests: Does anyone known about this type of pump (I'll get...

Well thanks from those who could help and the good wishes. I got back in one piece this morning at 3:30am. Darn Ford had to tow me into the casa. M1028 with new 400gal water trailer flew in at 65-70 MPH. Pretty sure I popped the timing chain as I decelerated down an off ramp, I was able...
