What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Last weekend was a trip to the airport for 5606 hydraulic fluid so I could bleed my system. I got it all working and got my spare in its rightful place. This weekend will be putting the correct hold down strap on the spare, removing the troop seats, putting a rebuild kit in the air protection...

    Your FMTV tool kit contents.

Just curious as to what you carry on the truck every day. This is also a thought exercise because you might have something in your kit that someone else never thought of. My list: Basics: 1/4 to 1/2 shallow and deep sockets with extensions and u-joints Ratchets for above and a long 1/2"...

    Thoughts on Boyce built trucks.

Should have updated this a while back. Instead of buying a 46k Deuce I spent the money I had to pay off all of our consumer debt. But, not all was lost, I found a pretty nice M1078 and got that instead.

    Quick reference parts list

Did anyone download a copy of the quick reference part list. I cannot access it and I have sent a PM to Simps5782 who posted it but have not heard back. I have a leaking air protection valve and need to get a rebuild kit.

    2 inch receiver hitch source?

I saw that a while back and about had a coronary when I saw the price tag. 400 for a hitch is one thing, but a 2600 bumper. I will get off my lazy butt and build it myself for that price.

    2 inch receiver hitch source?

I was looking at this one because it add the bolts underneath instead of being just a flat plate. https://www.ebay.com/itm/LMTV-FMTV-2-Receiver-Trailer-Hitch-Assembled-Ready-To-Mount-M1078-/154637147178?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 ETA-I could build...

    Alternative hydraulic hand pump.

Yes, I was parked at the east end close to Vern Burton. There was a guy that came over when I was leaving that said he had a M1079 and a M1083. I either didnt get his name or forgot it. My mind was focused on being pissed at the auditor's office. It is a small-ish area, maybe I will see you around.

    Alternative hydraulic hand pump.

Ronmar, was it you I met in the parking lot of the courthouse the other day when I was trying to register my 1078?

    M1078 larger tires

Oh I know your not. I have been a member of a couple other forums since dial-up days so I do deserve a ribbing.

    M1078 larger tires

I saw a thread on page 5 or 6 breifly at work before I posted. Looking at the pictures I now see he removed the steps and fenders. Read twice, post once.

    M1078 larger tires

Is it possible to fit 1600R20 on a stock M1078 and would it fit in the tire carrier?

    PNW Info Thread!

I just wanted to pop in and say hello from the north Olympic Peninsula. I just drove this M1078 home on Wednesday. Maybe I will see some of you around.

    Thoughts on Boyce built trucks.

Thanks for this write up! I am also in the camp of being willing/able to pay for quality work and not having the time to do it myself. Last summer I found and bought back the first car I ever owned (1972 Charger). With that on my plate I just want something I can get in and drive. Almost 100%...
