What to do with a transmission core?

I recently replaced my MT654CR with a military rebuilt unit purchased from a member on here. The diesel shop also flushed my system and filled with Transynd. Man, it shifts so much better. Smooth! I have the core in the container, but not sure what to do with it. I called a local truck...

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

Well, great! I like the sound of that. Can you explain the difference in the drums from the a1/a2? I didn’t realize there was a difference other than ctis and hub seal design. Are the drums mounting surfaces different?

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

Ok, so stock rims can be used on the a2s...but aren’t there rubbing issues since the backspacing is more to the center of the truck vs the HEMTT rims?

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

Thanks! I went back by there and measured the lug spacing. These wheels are 10 x 13.25", which definitely won't fit on my M923a2, which is 10 x 11.25". Another question: If I stay with the stock combat wheels currently on the front of my truck, I understand there will be rubbing with the...

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

So as I am reading about all this, I noticed that the wheel picture that I posted is of a 12 lug wheel, which I'm guessing is an MRAP wheel. It might also be a HET wheel. I'll go back by there and see what the lug measurements are. I may still buy these two, as the price is right for the new...

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

Looks good! About how far did you have to space out your side support bars? I'm thinking a removable bolt-on truss for the top of the davit might not be too hard to engineer.

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

Has anyone made that adapter and have a picture they can post? Will the HEMTT sheet metal protection plate work? I'm guessing maybe with modification....

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

Ok, I have that davit. Spacers to the side bars shouldn't be difficult. Does anyone have pictures of the reinforcement they have done to the upper arm support? Also, I suppose I could leave the 14r20 in place as a spare, anyone done that, and what would the downside be?

Hemtt wheels and CTIS on an M923a2

I am wanting to put 16r20 tires on my 1990 M923a2, and I can't seem to find a concrete answer to these questions: 1. I have found (2) 16r20 tires mounted on HEMTT wheels that have HEMTT CTIS on them. I plan to put them on the front. I would like to keep my CTIS on my truck. Will they work...

    M939a2 Winch Control Tower Needed

I looked up those cables on the Oshkosh equipment site. I see the pto engage cable is different, longer it looks like, for the A2. They don't specify different cables for the winch control. Those may be the same for a1 and A2. Thanks for the direction on this!

You know, I didn't even think about that. My apologies for mis-posting to the wrong section! Thanks for the suggestion!

    M939a2 Winch Control Tower Needed

I purchased a complete winch kit for my M923A2. The kit came with a control head tower for an A1. Does anyone have an A2 tower they would like to sell, or trade for my A1 tower? I also have an A1 pto shaft that I can modify, but if anyone has an A2 shaft they would like to sell or trade I...
