For reference, here is the tire pressure/weight/speed chart from Michelin for these tires.
Obviously they have a speed limit. And yes it does matter. But we can also take liberty in understanding that most of this chart shows the load ratings at speed and tire pressure.
Btw, this is also a good...
Top speed depends on what your governor is set at.
I got around 73 mph tops on my M818.
Now, I could cruise nicely at 60 to 65 mph, which I found to be a really nice speed to cruise at on the interstate.
FYI.
I will not be hosting the Chehalis Rally in July this year. It has been a number of good years spent hosting this event.
Aaron Wildenberg put in a ton of work to get it started and keep it going. Biggest kudos to you man!
Thanks for all those that have shown up over the last 14 years.
If...
You attachment point on the pulled load is far too high. As soon as you try and pull, it is lifting the rear of your 998. And making for even less traction, etc.
Update!
The truck show WILL be happening directly after the parade!
We will take short convoy directly after the parade to the truck show.
Did I mention there is usually FREE FOOD at the truck show?
It's time to start planning for this year's rally in the PNW!
This is year 14 for our 15th Rally.
The third weekend in July will be our next gathering.
Everyone is welcome from Thursday July 13th to Monday July 17th. Anyone wanting a longer vacation, please contact me ahead of time.
This year...
FYI, pulling runflats is super easy if you have an engine hoist / cherry picker.
Just set the legs over each side of the tire and run a chain down from the hoist to the runflat. Make sure it is offset inside the tire (typically needed to get the chain around the runflat itself.)
Then just pump...
My M1123 cruises nicely at 70-75 mph on the interstate.
As for how fast I've actually gone, 95 mph.....
Good thing I didn't have a tach to see what rpms it was turning. (it's my ex's truck now, so that is her issue to worry about now.)
I had two M1123s. One had the remote and the other was standard.
No noticeable difference in steering power or function.
Harder to bleed, but a lot easier to get to the remote reservoir for seeing the level and topping off.
I had side by side M1123s that each had new sets (2019 date codes.) MTs and Bajas.
I preferred the Bajas, even with the lower lifespan.
I do think the MTs actually rode better at interstate speeds than the Bajas did, but there are a lot of other things in play besides just the tire when it comes...
