Funny story about that. One of the guys in my jeep group was dating a girl whose dad owned a commercial generator company. I showed him my set up and he said he could get it all sorted out no problem for cheap money. Of course before I could do it my friend and his daughter broke up ugly and he...
I'm happy to pay a fair price for anything but there is a long history dating back well before there was an internet of people selling a magic black box that would fix whatever you needed. I have been getting PM's from the OP for a while asking about this thing and frankly when he dropped it...
Well, a steak house is a business and someone trying to help out says "I got a great deal over here and you can too; here's the info." Those controllers are not originals.
I'm perfectly happy paying a fair price for anything but this whole thing just seems a little off to me.
carry on
I think it's great that you found this but I'm wondering if you are posting this to help out others, or are you a vendor trying to sell a product? If you are just helping then where do you get them and how much do you pay for them?
If there is programming involved I think something for your...
depends on the era and the service branch, Army tan and Marine tan are a little different.
My truck is Army and was painted desert storm 1 era tan. The carc substitute 686 tan from Gillespie Paint (rapcoparts.com) was a dead bang match for color and texture.
here is a picture of the truck...
I have been thinking ditching my valve as well. The way I understand it is the valve is meant to increase the braking to the rear as the load goes up. The problem I have is that I often tow my jeep and even though it weighs ~3500 lbs there is no tongue weight, so the braking sucks. The fronts...
The engine just remains at normal idle speed, then slows when a load is put on the generator. This post, http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/30356-m1031-generator-speed-control.html#post321889
shows the missing parts. A relay, which is easy to find, and ESSC speed control, which is the hard...
I am interested in the parts source. Even if I do sell the truck it would be nice to have it all working. As it is now I can run my welder (220v) but I need a helper to maintain engine RPM.
thanks
I have never followed up but there are definately parts missing. There is a local guy here that does commercial power and claims to have the parts but no time on my end.
Meantime thinking I might sell the truck anyway.
cheers
I tow my jeep fairly often with my bone stock M1031, maybe weighs 3800 #.
Pulls it fine but if you lose momentum on a long hill get ready for a 25 mph pull to the top.
I have been looking for a turbo on here, ebay, craigs and at the junklyards. Not willing to pay a lot cuz I doubt it will...
I paid $5k for mine last summer, with a california title and a new drive shaft. Has the gen and compressor. no welder. appx 10,000 miles and everything is in full working order except the engine speed control. Still looking for a control box for that.
