Here are some pics of the connecting rod and the pan. Everything seems to be ok aside from the one cylinder that went south.

    855 Liner problems

Can't really know for sure once the grenade goes off. If it was a failing or failed injector there would have been a pretty noticeable miss or excessive exhaust smoke or even fuel diluted crank case oil. But once it goes boom its anyone guess. In the past I have used an infrared temp gun to...

    855 Liner problems

I dont know if you saw the pictures of mine but sounds basically the same. Mine puked a liner, destroyed a piston, and filled the crank case with water. I havent gotten the pan down yet but i did pull the head. Mine pushed two valves right through the seats and also bent the con rod. I have a...

    Cummins NHC250 Head removal question

The amount of metal and debris that has gone through the engine scares me. The oil was completely blended with the coolant and came out grey in color. I dont really want to take the chance of fixing this one hole only to have the rest of the motor crap the bed on me. Remember the liner is mashed...

    Cummins NHC250 Head removal question

There is a spider crack in the block just below the bottom of the Liner. The date on the motor is 2006 so it was either rebuilt in 2006 or new from cummins in 2006. The engine is spotless outside.

    Cummins NHC250 Head removal question

The piston has a clear crack right down the middle. It was either a defective piston, a poor rebuild in 2006, or way WAY too much ether. Nothing else appears to be wrong. The head gasket was intact and everything else physically looks fine.

    Cummins NHC250 Head removal question

Heres the pics! All i can say is That don't look right :cookoo: The head is garbage, the liner is gone, the piston was in the bore sideways, the connecting rod is bent, and the block is cracked. What a sound it must have made!
