Time for some diesel 911! Hahaha Condensation builds up if you keep the tank low. I try to keep my tanks at least halfway full in the summer and 3/4 in the winter. Use some type of water remover additive and fill the tank on top of it. Don't toss the old filter if it wasn't very old. It could...
I let one of my two (one) wheel drive dump trucks sit idle every winter. Spring comes around and I tag and insure it again. This year I took off on a test run just making sure everything was running fine. I turned on the A/C to get some air and heard some debris in the fan housing. I figured the...
Oh yeah, I've had filters that would only last a couple weeks before needing replaced again. +1 on the change again or bypass the filter with fuel hose and a standard lawn and garden fuel filter for testing. If you use the right size hose, you can just remove the filter and use the same in/out...
I'll say a m1009 can't haul. I'll also add the m1008 to that list. I've tried towing small loads (2000lb) through these winding WV hills with both vehicles. Even the M1008 with its low gearing can't hold reasonable speed. I've topped out hills at 10-15mph. Its not very comforting when you feel...
For the sake of simplicity, you are right. It was just a thought, as many classifieds have a barter section. That being said, anyone want to trade a broken rusted lawn mower, with a new spark plug, for a restored 5 ton hahaha. That seems to be the way most traders think anyway.
I'm not a master trader by no means; however, I enjoy trading when the opportunity arises. Does anyone else see a need for a barter (trade only) section in the classifieds. I never like to ask someone about trading if they don't mention it in a for sale ad. I feel like I'm harassing them in a...
If I have an rust issue that I can't get too for a few months, I just smother it in grease. I've rubbed grease onto cab corners and poured tons of gear oil on the inside. It seems to stop the rust/damage in its tracks until I can get to it. Although, it does make a fine mess when the time comes...
Looks like were in the same general area. I use a simple dipstick heater that works wonders. On many occasions, without the heater, the truck has failed to start at temps below 40.
A small fuel leak may cause major problems. You can have a fuel line leak and not even have any fuel leak out. Instead the air leaks into the lines and causes an unstable running condition. Just change those fuel lines and come back. Replace all rubber lines and blow air through the metal ones...
Sorry to leave this thread unfinished. I just forgot about it. It was the injectors. I replaced all with rebuilt injectors and the truck is 100%. Still been running the same fuel mix for over two years since I left this thread. Thanks to all.
