    M1009 alternator Questions?

My bad. Either way, shouldn't that wire be grounded to the block, with a larger gauge wire perhaps? That wire ran to the diagnostic plug. Which is what i was wondering. Other pics i have seen show the wire running up behind the tstat housing. The stud is there for it on the engine. Or do i just...

    M1009 alternator Questions?

Hey guys, kinda confused here. Pics below. Bit of background story, started with me wanting to remove the diagnostic plug in the cab. Looked at it a lil closer and figured i might as well clean up the wires in the engine bay. PO had been in the looms and hacked everything up doing a...

    rear window alignment

Yeah after pondering some more maybe he did have this apart and just lined the gears up wrong. In the pic of the gears you can see the mark on the left gear towards the center of the pic. On the right hand gear the mark is way up just below the rod that goes to the tailgate latch. Also from...

A oil pan heater might not warm the engine as a whole very much, but it keeps your oil warm and that's what matters IMO. I've seen videos of a 4cyl gas...

    Switching to synthetic

Hey guys, im in Canada and its cold...-30C cold (-45 with windchill). Im currently running rotella 15w40 in the engine. Its due for an oil change and i know 0w40 rotella synthetic can make a big difference as far as engine wear goes. My worries are my existing oil leaks will only get worse (oil...

Change that small coolant hose on your 6.2 liter CUCV engine...

Glad you mentioned the one hose is 3/4. I blew one on my way to work recently, eyeballed the hoses and figured they were both5/8 (the oem hoses almost look like they have the same OD just different ID). I changed them out after work that night in the shop.. needless to say i did alot of cursing...
