    extended cab frame flex?

PRholley, ill likely cab the entire top, after bobbing it. right now I'm weighing options on how to pull off what i want to do. thus far there are two options since I'm not going to ever load the truck with pallets of stuff. 1. mod the crap out the body find an MATV hood and make the entire...

    extended cab frame flex?

Thanks Jericho. That alleviates some of my concern. Is there any warping in the bed? I'm rather worried hard pointing a full length can on a 931 will warp the door jams eventually and my handles will become bungee cords;) part of what I'm looking at doing is putting an matv hood on, boxing the...

    extended cab frame flex?

my concern is moving that cross member further back might either cause stress cracks/ load on that portion as well. IE ripping steel since its mostly a side to side sheer pressure. how much did your frame flex when rolling over the car? ( rough guess is still better than no info at all)

    M925 a1 armored crew cab

id suggest double checking the hydrogen content of your filler metal, you want H4 or less. also fast short welds. get a good bead ( which by your photos your all on top of) longer welds will over heat the steel and mess up the temper, I know I'm likely preaching to the choir but that steel is...

    extended cab frame flex?

looking through the threads I've failed to find much on this. With the frame flex on existing stock m931 ( found one, just finishing up bargaining) I'm wondering if anyone stiffens the frame with X bracing or boxing ( which would require some additional welding attention since the frame is...

m939 A2.. if you could do everything possible ...

on chopping, I can't see where it would be worth it necessarily. with air ride seats, less head height is going to be knots on top in short order.. I'm mostly wondering if anyone has seen it done.

"capable of" the going the same places a stock jeep can like a CJ5.. not capable of being modded to **** and back and now is a rally car and no longer a jeep in anything but name:D actually, an M931 is capable of going places a stock jeep isn't. so its not much to ask for to equal that bar in a...

granted I realize the joke in it but has anyone ever mucked with overall aerodynamics? ( id thought of an MATV oshkosh hood with the big slope on it but its likely going to have to be lifted so high as to be dang near the same flat nose as a stock hood/front grill. I kinda think it a pipe dream...

m939 A2.. if you could do everything possible ...

Ideally since I work in a home based shop welding and occasionally doing cabinets. Id like to have a project thats big enough to enjoy detail work on. IE body work with minimal bondo. ( doing bikes, all your evil is right there looking at you when its not perfect so to have a full on crew cab...

all good CSM, actually I'm 43. med retired but I was still walking with a platoon in stan up til I was 41, a lucky shot put me in fort Living Room. IM not in love with any specific variant which is why I'm holding out and forming a punch list of sorts of what is the most viable ( it does look...

m939 A2.. if you could do everything possible ...

fellas, Im tracking the list of threads ( some I've asked questions on specifically) the goal was more to compile. everyone has their own things they do and believe is the "best" one thread that pretty much serves as an index of all the brilliant ideas that are being tried currently or have...

m939 A2.. if you could do everything possible ...

This is exactly why I started this thread. assuming you guys are the subject matter experts presented to be. then what mods WOULD YOU. recommend for a m939 5 ton. to get the most from the vehicle, both on and off road. I thought I was rather clear with that. When I started receiving input on...

m939 A2.. if you could do everything possible ...

actually…. I saw a vendor HERE who makes a bracket for disc brakes for 5 tons. something I didn't think was feasible until I saw the ad HERE. IM pretty sure I did mention I BUILD bikes… not a single thing about building trucks. which would be a reason why I'm asking questions and looking for...
