What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finally able to get my valves adjusted. Been after my dad to come help me for months but we've both been too busy. I knew I had one valve ticking in the back which turned out to be #4 intake. All the rest were way too tight. We didn't check to see what they actually were though. Now if only I...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I installed a new J-pipe last week and was finally able to start it and do a radiator/block flush after sitting with a new radiator for over a month. I had planned on just cutting out the cancer and using new elbows but that never happened due to the lack of a second pair of hands. As a result i...

Wrecker bumper vise on a deuce

My winch truck came with this Wilton. Don't know whether it is original or added on at some point during its life with Uncle Sam, but it came from GL with it. I rarely use it, but it works great.

    Whistler Turbo Equivalent Parts

I'm not so sure there is an aftermarket option. Perhaps someone wiser than I will throw their 2 cents in. I snagged an NOS whistler on Ebay a few years ago and considerably cheaper than most used ones that I have seen. They show up there from time to time, but mostly used take offs. Have you...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Actually, I lied. I seem to recall just sending nails into a piece of pressure treated half round. The results weren't much better

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I figured it would. A framing nailer isn't a high volume tool. I have an air compressor with a similar volume to a Deuce at 9 gallons and it won't run the gun very well either. I use my 30 gallon portable compressor instead which runs it just fine. Fully charged I can shoot a full magazine of...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I have a glad hand hose that I've run off the back of the truck. There is also a valve under the dash on the passenger side which is where I put an air hose connection. Bout all I used it for was to run a nail gun doing fence work which I soon found out didn't work at all. The pressure is there...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The J pipe is pretty rotten so I pulled that the other day. Have a couple elbows on order and should get that fixed this week. Spent my afternoon yesterday removing the radiator. When I drove it home after picking it up, the top tank blew out on me a couple miles from home. I cleaned it up and...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That'd do the trick... tobyS - I completely failed to notice you said you made a double barrel with 2/500s. Please tell me you have a picture of that thing floating around.... The more I think about it, I seem to remember my dad telling me that he had a double barrel stove in my shop back...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Only the front plate and pipe are stainless. Drum, back plate and door are just plain steel. It was decided the back plate should be 1/2" though being it would probably be the hottest part of the whole stove. Looks like I didn't make that part more clear in the original post. My old stove was...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

This is true. I always have a box fan hung up on the wall and it works very well. But, it wasn't doing any good last week. Have a few spots that are quite drafty and the wind really exploits those drafts. I'll have to do something about that before next winter. It didn't help that the stove was...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Nice having a shop...though its a wreck at this moment. I need to take an evening and clean it up...which I'm not terrible about. Wish I had a similar building at work where i can easily work on the equipment. That 2040 has been good to us, though I wish it were bigger, had a cab (esp. trying to...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Spent a couple afternoons last week tinkering on one of the Deuces. Helps having a big stove in the shop which normally does well down into the 20s even with the shop not being insulated. However I had forgotten that it does struggle if it's windy. Even with hands half froze I managed to install...
