So I did some looking around on line. For the new gear reduction starter, bolts and bracket Im lookin at around $150 (with shipping) and having to wait 3-10 days for arrival. I found a rebuild shop down the road that can rebuild for about $175 with a 24 hour turn around. Im gonna go with the...
Bench tested the starter. She's done. I found one online at rareelectrical, doesn't look the same though. Do you think this will work? NEW 24V STARTER MiLITARY VEHICLES 6.2L DIESEL ENGINE
Update: I checked my starter relay this morning and it is working just fine so I pulled the starter out, gonna bench test it in a little bit. Im hoping its the solenoid and not the starter.

I didn't see you posted those pictures, mine is the bigger one on the left. I finally have some time off so Im gonna get to the starter today. Before I yank that starter out, Ive got a question or two. First, The TM shows a relay near the starter and one under the dash but in the schematics, I...
Gotcha, makes sense. I put mine on a lift so I didn't have an issue with the axle nor did I need to remove the starter. Although as luck would have it, now that i have the oil pan issue solved, my starter is done. Hopefully just the relay or solenoid. If I ever get off work I will start on that.
