If checking for voltage, it will need to be connected, but when ohming it out, disconnected. So I would leave it disconnected and do those resistance tests first. Beer and Burgers work. Good Luck

Wiring How do you plan on wiring that transfer switch? Are you just going break the Neutral? You will need to pay particular attention to the Neutral to Ground bond within the Generator. I will try to post something tomorrow on generator wiring. - Keith
