Thanks for the info! I finally got the vehicle in the garage, and discovered a broken CV on the rear right (passenger) side. I did pickup the TCase just in case, but I will start with the half shaft. Next problem, is trying to find one locally!

I could be completely wrong, but wouldn't a blown CV behave the same way in "H" or "HL"? When in "HL" the vehicle is good, and behaves normally. I am just mentally trying to understand how the vehicle would go in reverse when in "H". Any thoughts?

Yes, I agree. This was a test drive to see if the aftermarket wheels/tires would solve the problem.... I am looking for more information/procedures to checking all the steering components... Do you know if these procedures were included in the service manual for the HMMWV?

Thanks for the thoughts.. I have been running a drill, and that will take weeks! I am worried about increasing the speed too much over 70mph, and destroying the new odometer. Ill look around for a gauge shop or just leave it as is. I was just worried what the state inspection shops will say...
