Poll: How do YOU say CUCV?

I've heard Cut-V from military folks that served with it. One Thousand and Nine from others. In our house we call it the beast.

Hazard lights on with flasher removed

dstang97 were you able to get at your flasher diodes without pulling your fuse box? I got the horn diode removed and the steering column put back together, 1 problem down and 1 to go. Hopefully I will have time to take a look at it tomorrow.

remove or replace? I assume this requires pulling the fuse panel. Do you think this also be the problem with the horn. Thanks for the info.

Hazard lights on with flasher removed

The hazard lights on my m1009 turn on but don't flash. Even with the flasher removed they turn on, both the indicators and the actual lights. If I pull the fuse they shut off. The only thing I can think of is to pull the fuse panel and see if something is shorted on the backside. The -20...

    New M1009 Owner

BigRix Congrats on your new purchase. I just bought one back in November myself. And it is a work in progress. I have some holes that need patching and a noise to isolate and repair. Good luck with your repairs and upgrades.

Has anyone had a fender bender?

I got rear ended in my m1009 about a month ago when traffic stopped short in front of me. I did get stopped buy the Honda pilot behind me didn't. I learned that the old 1009 will lock up the brakes in a panic stop and Honda Pilot front ends are designed to crush. They paid me $212, said they...

    CUCV MPG thread

I have 3.08 gears and I won't drive over 65. I usually keep it between 55-60 when on the highway. I wouldn't go 65 with 3.73. I looking to go to 33s or 35s on mine.

insulating and making a cucv a bit quieter

Thanks jdeoliveira74. I think I will see if I can get the wide roll, that will cut down on the number of seams, so less opportunities for me to mess it up.

insulating and making a cucv a bit quieter

I need to go to Lowes and see if they have it locally. I would love to quiet things down a bit. Thanks for all the great pics. Has anyone had this stuff in place for a long time? I'm worried that it might trap moisture if some does get in and cause rusting. I've got a hole now that I need to...
