    new-to-me MEP-802a

Nice to meet some local folks on here! @DieselAddict perhaps I can take you up on that offer some time... I do have a clamp meter, next time I test it out I can check the current on the leads going out of the unit. All the gauges do seem to work accurately except possibly the load % gauge. I...

    new-to-me MEP-802a

Well, not in a scientific fashion where I knew the exact load that was on it, but I have powered 2 large chest freezers, 2 fridges, my well pump, a minisplit heat pump with 2 distribution units, and at least 500w in shop lights with it at once, for around 4 hours. I'm not sure my load meter...

Ha, you never know where you'll run into a "neighbor" :D small world. I bought this thing from a fellow in Mebane.

Sure, although I doubt anyone has heard of it!

    new-to-me MEP-802a

It's been a while, but I've to everything on the previous list addressed now except re-plumbing the fuel tank. It is so much quieter now that I got all the sheet metal fasteners replaced. Much less rattling/buzzing! I've also had a couple of actual power outages where I used the unit, the...

802A, need help identifying parts to address a couple of leaks

Followup, thanks for the help here. I got the copper washers for the banjo fitting (super expensive though!), and resolved that leak. The injector pump oil leak seems to have subsided as well after loosing the retaining fork, doing a little cleaning and wiping down, then re-torquing.

802A, need help identifying parts to address a couple of leaks

I took a closer look yesterday, there are in fact shims under the pumps, looks like a single black shim. I'm also thinking maybe it is not sealing because some gunk probably got under there while I was working on the fuel lines and had the pump retaining forks removed. I found a vendor online...

802A, need help identifying parts to address a couple of leaks

Thanks! I believe the oil is coming out from the base of the pump where the shim should be, but I'll have to do a closer inspection to be sure. I also need to check if there are actually shims under there on my unit. If they are there, they are not visible as it sits with the pumps tightened in...

802A, need help identifying parts to address a couple of leaks

I'm certain it is oil. They were leaking fuel when I got the unit, but I resolved that by refurbishing the little "manifold" and replacing the short hoses going to the pumps. That did require loosening and removing the retaining forks on the pumps to gain access, but I didn't remove the pumps...

802A, need help identifying parts to address a couple of leaks

Yes I do, good call :). 5kw MEP802 TQG Eng9-2815-252-24P, Figure 4 appears to show what I need? Part #4 is listed as a 'shim' for the injection pump. Not sure that qualifies as a gasket or seal, but I don't see anything else there that looks like it would contribute to sealing the pump against...

802A, need help identifying parts to address a couple of leaks

Hi, I need to address a couple of minor leaks on my 802A and I could use a little help: 1) Fuel banjo fitting weeps diesel where it attaches into the small "secondary" filter. It has no copper washers or other sealing mechanism that I can notice. Are there washers that should be on either side...

    new-to-me MEP-802a

Today I was able to do a test run with a new transfer switch installed on our detached garage building. The 802 ran basically everything in the building, including a minisplit AC, without appearing to break a sweat. I had about 600 watts of shop lighting on, a fridge, 2 chest freezers, and the...

    new-to-me MEP-802a

I got the fuel lines re-plumbed at least from the pump through the filters, got the water/fuel filter hooked back up, and fixed the leaks. It was leaking fuel from the nipples attached to the injection pumps. Both were not very tight and the copper/brass washers were boogered up a little. I...

    new-to-me MEP-802a

To be clear, it wasn't my idea to configure it this way. This is just how it is when I bought it and dragged it home the other day. but, as it sits it's basically neutral over the tires. I've removed the top cover and the side cover where the fuel filters are, and discovered that whoever...

MEP 802/803 Fuel Supply Hose Replacement

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but can anyone state the size of the original JIC fittings for the fuel hoses?
