So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

I'll have to get a picture posted, but I haven't taken one yet. Look under accessories on Aubers website, and they make small black mounting boxes for these (this is what I used), and they worked great; I mounted them on the left side of the transmission shift tower. I can't remember the...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

These are the gauges I installed, they work great and have built in alarm LED's with outputs for an audible alarm if desired. http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5_26

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

UPDATE: Finally did the "real" fuel adjustment... Holy crap! I backed it out about 2.5 turns and adjusted the "no air" screw, and this thing screams! I'm taking it easy on her and watching all the important gauges, but it's quite impressive compared to stock. Hills that I used to get passed on...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

I've heard the tool costs about $200, but I could be wrong. I just took a 14mm & a 10mm deep socket and turned down the OD on the 10mm and bored out the ID on the 14mm; I'll either use vise grips for the 14mm or tack weld a tee handle on it, and use a regular 3/8" drive short extension with a...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

Does a 200-300F drop pre turbo to post turbo sound about right? I've got my probe installed about 1.5" after the turbo where they recommended. Also, to do the real fuel adjustment you've gotta have a special socket inside a socket tool, I can post a couple pics of what I made if that's helpful.

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

Maybe he was just being extra cautious... What do you think would be safe continuous boost, and how about EGT's? I'm just learning as I go:-)

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

I installed my pyrometer and boost gauges, but I've only had time to make the rack adjustment shown on Low buck diesel power website... the actual fuel adjustment is proving to be a real pain; the screws have proved very difficult to get out on the back of the pump that hold on the tin cover. As...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

I've put together a step-by-step guide to do this, so we'll see how it works out... Unfortunately, I don't have a dyno to give real HP number increases, however I do have this one darn hill that I know if I hit the bottom @ 60mph, I'm only doing 40mph when I reach the top... This will be my test...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

Has anyone actually posted results on turning up the fuel on the 6CTA 8.3 Cummins in the A2? If so, I haven't found it... Which leads me to... I'm installing digital pyrometer and boost gauges today, then I'm going to turn it up and see what I can get out of my A2. I've done a lot of talking...

    M923A2 parts question

The inner and outer hub seals are correct, and the outer hub seal also acts as the air seal for the ctis; there's basically 2 of the outer hub seals facing each other on opposite sides of the air port; the outer seal is held in by a large snap ring. Just as a side note, the inner bearing is...

    M923A2 parts question

Are you saying the only need for these seals are for the CTIS? If so, what seal does the M923A2 use for the hub seal? i understand its different than A0 & A1

    M923A2 parts question

Has anyone had luck finding the inner and outer hub seals for the M923A2? I was able to source the outer hub seal PN# A-1205-D-2162 for about $25.00/ea, but I have not had luck finding the inner hub seal PN# A-1205-Z-2132. I know Erik's is supposed to have both in stock here in a couple weeks or...

Tire lube and a good boot stomp getting it in, tire lube and grab on and pull to get them out. That's how I do it anyways.

    Truck-Lite Route Clearance Lights Installed

Thanks! That's not a bad idea, although there was nothing in the holes prior to the u-bolts, may as well seal it up as best as possible.

    Truck-Lite Route Clearance Lights Installed

I may add a brush guard at some point, however these specific lights, if not tightened to tight at the pivot will fold over if hit (low speed obviously). I've tested it out just by pushing on the lense by hand and moving them forward and back, and they will not move on there own from the...
