MEP-1050 Fault Code 3665

@peapvp - Thank you, you were right. It was my app that was not displaying it. I wonder why this app - "Preview" on MacOS displays most of the figure images in the PDF but not some? When I opened the PDF in Firefox it displayed the image. Also think you for posting the missing image here for confirmation.

Regarding the voltage selection fault code 3665, I am still unclear how I set that in the Figure 7 image. Am I missing something else that describes how it is set and what to change?

The 80 Amp circuit breaker arrived yesterday and I have installed it. It mounts with 3 hex head screws, but there are nuts behind the wall that it mounts to and after removing the screws I could hear the nuts fall to the bottom of the chassis which required removing about 30 10 mm bolts from the front housing to access that side of the unit. So far it seems that most if not all of the bolts on this unit are stainless steel. I guess that makes sense.

Being able to switch the circuit breaker to the On position did not make any difference to any error codes, not that I was expecting it would but I know I needed to replace this circuit breaker anyway.

BTW, I also have a fault code 3664. This one is not displayed at the top of the main screen but is shown down in one of the sub menus. I guess I will chase the 3665 fault first and see what's next.

This is completely new to me and I am taking this step by step. I appreciate the helpful folks on here and hope the support can continue to help me learn something new. Am I weird if I say I am enjoying this?

@Tinstar - Thank you and I may pursue this route in the end. I did receive a phone call yesterday from one of the companies that I contacted to get estimates for the repair. They want to email it to me so maybe I will know what that cost is for the shipper's insurance in a day or two.

I have no idea how many guys in here have these generators, but it is pretty cool. Maybe I am weird for having that opinion also. I sure hope I can get this machine running.

It would be helpful if you could remove the clear cover off the connection board and post a clear picture of the board.
Btw. are you sure you got a 1050 and not 1051 (400 Hz) Genset? Just double checking.

I am not 100% sure, but there is something rotten in Denmark.

The Board is currently in the 120/208V Position in your Genset
This Connection Board does not match the Manual -10 (maybe from a different AMMPS Genset)
And. if I see this correctly then there is a frayed wire!

So, you got some problems there.
Study both manuals as outlined above

@peapvp - I knew from the start this wasn't going to just work, so I am ready to put in the time and if reasonable money. I am learning something new along the way and so far I am not discouraged. I do not yet understand these manuals structure/methodology so that is another thing I am learning.

I thought I would have to remove this voltage selection board to see what is behind it to tell the configuration, but you were able to see it from the front.

I would first take out the time and read Pages 128 and 129 in the -24TM
The red boxes are clickable and will get you that section

You probably will have to remove the connection board in the troubleshooting process.
Follow the steps outlined in the TM's

I suspect that someone swapped out the connection boards and may have miss wired them, the frayed wire is a indication that something is not quite right here.

Take your time, double check everything, compare steps taken with steps outlined in TM

Eventually you will get there

a NSN is the National Stock Number the Government uses as Part Numbers.

The -24P TM will list the NSN and the manufacturer Part Number

Some parts which were made exclusively for the Military, may have only a NSN but do not have a Manufacturers Part Number.

The -24 and the -24P are combined in the pdf I posted

I know that this is a lot to digest for a beginner, especially since the -24 has more then a 1,000 Pages

But, we all gotta start somewhere

Thank you. The sun is starting to kick in pretty good here - Southern Oregon - so I do not think I will take the voltage selection board out to look at until this evening when the sun goes down some. Agree that hast makes waste.

Thank you. It is a lot to digest but I want to get through it. I will see if I can find that NSN part number for the banjo bolt so I know I buy the right part.

Ok so you go to the 24p manual when you get to the page 0141-3 if give you a break down of all the parts so missing in your picture are parts 23 and 22, next you go to the parts listing 0141-5/6 parts 22, 23 and they give parts numbers that come back to Yanmar parts numbers because this is a yanmar engine. I will leave it to you to follow the instructions and look up the part numbers they are readily available.

For the interested reader as an aside:

There is currently no AI trained to help you work through Generator Issues or to provide a solution to a problem, which would enable the owner of such Generator to avoid downloading, reading and studying the TM's associated of such Generator.

Better get your reading glasses out

If there was such a trained AI, I would be hiding in a Foxhole far away from any Generator repaired by such method, when said Generator would undergo its first start attempt.......
