M1101/02 trailers: I need to change the wheels and need the exact size

I have found that the thicker aluminum wheels sometimes need longer studs. May want to check before painting.

What did you do to your trailer today.

Did this a while back and thought I would share the idea. I got two M105s last year with the end curtains stitching coming undone. Since these are for use and not restoration I just attached the end curtains to the bows with screws and washers having small center holes. Could paint them so they...

    new trailer

Not only that, even pulling one empty with a 5-ton is tricky (if you like your tires), especially if you are spoiled with the truck's ABS. It was all I could do to not make the brakes lock on the trailer pulling with mine. Looked behind me to a smoke cloud a few times. Had the same issue with...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

    Good info there. Thanks.

    Forklifting a M1082A1

Three posts back. No air to hydraulic on my A0s so I figured they wouldn't make the A1 have air over hydraulic brakes. Still pretty risky with a forklift, unless you operate it yourself. Then you know the operator cares.

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

Federal law states no log if less than 100 mile radius from where truck is housed, even with a DOT number and used for commercial purpose. That is federal law.

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

Definitely wasted more money on lesser "things".

    Forklifting a M1082A1

M1082 has full air brakes. Can't see them going backward on the A1 model.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Same plug in mine but it is black plastic.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Is that another M105 behind that 1st pic? Also, if the end curtain is coming off you could attach it directly to the bow with screws and large washers with small holes. I did that to two of mine and they are holding well.

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

I love Ohio! Anyone can drive a "commercial" vehicle for non commercial use with a regular driver's license! Gotta have appropriate plates on the vehicle though. Ah, the land of freedom.

Thank you. I will look into that.

Sounds like fine tuning from that engine swap. Is that gasser holding up to that lead foot?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Have to figure out how the low coolant light started coming on intermittently, with the radiator completely full. Don't see a sensor on the overflow tank but looks like it's time to hit the TM combined with common sense. Darn TM can lead you to an empty wallet if you aren't careful. Yesterday...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

So did it crank the engine noticably faster?

The beast died after hitting a bump!!

I too thought it was a second hidden switch in addition to the main battery power switch, to stop thieves. However, if it feels sloppy, the replacement is a good idea, as it could fail at a time most inconvenient.

The beast died after hitting a bump!!

Have never seen a data plate on my alternator but havn't looked either. Both look like the above pictures, but my starter zips pretty quick.

The beast died after hitting a bump!!

Yes, the batteries would start the truck regardless of the alternator's condition, if fully charged good batteries. You could just momentarily bypass the battery cut off switch to check it. Not like we have taxpayer funding to just throw stuff at these beasts.
