Do I smell an 8.3 vs 250 event? Sure, it is all about traction, but you know what’s going to happen regardless if the 8.3 takes the 250 for a walk.... If this is on, I may fly down for it (anything to avoid replacing my back window).
14.00 or 16.00 is the tire sidewall profile height. So if you start with a 20” rim, and add 14” x 2 (top and bottom), you get 48”. With a 16 you’ll get 52”. I think actual measured is 49”/53” respectively, when new.
The 395’s use automotive tire sizing. Width/profile % of width - rim...
My boss has (had) one. Was drilling holes in his boat hoist, kid tripped over the cord, the thing shut off, detached, and fell to the bottom of the lake.
Unloaded junk out of the bed. Cleaned the worn out 14.00's, re-sprayed the rims flat black, and hope to get the LWS mounted before Woodward Dream Cruise next weekend (the largest single day car event in the world). Making clip-on aircraft seatbelts for the troop seats to stay legal so I don't...
The fuel gauge system in vehicles is very simplistic. Gauge and sender are in series, just a single wire circuit. Power starts at the gauge and goes through it, single wire from there to the sender and across the variable resistor at the sender, then out of the sender to the frame ground right...
Yep, just bought a complete convoy light kit to throw atop the stash. May look silly with an LWS and convoy light kit though, so will have some canvas light covers made up.
Weighs nothing. Maybe same as an empty duffle bag, or less.
I bought a piece of scallop cut mesh camo netting (radar scattering?) to act as a sun shade over my cargo bed area, without using the cargo cover itself. Tried it on the wife's Grand Cherokee, it is like spilling spot remover on your dog:
Depends. The 250 motor has a ton of off-idle torque, the 8.3L has none. Also, the 250 at idle sounds like it is going to eat people, and the 8.3L sounds like it is picking up your kids from school, or delivering your wife's Echo from Amazon.
Wow, that was the most reverse-biased post I have...
Still cranking the engine we have not seen run yet....
I discarded a single PM, so you have one chance to say everything you ever wanted to. Apology it is full, I’m popular. Don’t cry, the weak are killed and eaten.
“Luke, I am your father.”. Ha ha, that’s what I’m talking about. School bus motors for the win!
A set of 5.9 performance governor springs will get the trans to cooperate. The shift point and injection pump de-fueling governor limit are very close at wide open throttle, stock. A GSK...
E, this is awesome, actually. Could be the first documented performance of a 5 ton here. I've been wanting to make a database of M939xx truck performance, and the effect each mod has on it. Can you state what the air temp or elevation was on the run, and any performance mods you have done to...
