I'll definitely have to consider that. I'm also looking into trying to track down a M101A2 as well. Basically something for me to haul an extra ATV around and do a few things my utility trailer won't or can't. Anyways today I got the pintle hitch back in action, greased it really well at the...
Need to test drive to check vacuum line replacement
Gen 2 issue is still bugging me but not a huge issue (someone will have slave cables right?)
King pin repair should start tomorrow God willing I will do it right the first time
Still have to order and install a civi trailer hitch
Zerks get...
*Too many thread windows up so I made a post in the wrong spot... Still working on the M1008, may be getting a M1101 (or possibly a M101A2) to go with it but we shall see.
I talked to my friend cat today (her M1008 is something to seriously drool over... once it gets out of the shop) and she talked me through a few things. Also some gracious members here have been PM'ing me some great tips, tricks, and information. I'm getting spooled up to do the king pins, I've...
gungearz,
Depending on if my better half goes I may have a couple extra folding chairs so long as they dont walk off I'm happy to let someone borrow them.
sirmrtow,
Good to know, I'm not sure when I'll be heading down, friday or saturday. But I figured maybe we can get a small convoy going...
Everytime I call you I end up with something... I have to time it when you dont have anything in the classifieds like that really nice looking M1101 trailer. which would look great behind it this truck...
Cleaned all the contacts? I did and am still stumped unless I fried something. Take a look at the pug on top of the alternator. It looks about as crispy as mine, my next step is replacing that.
Replaced the vacuum lines as best as I could, I ended up having to use fuel line of three different sizes. The vacuum hose connector at the top of the vacuum hose regulator had to be removed and there is no replacement available. So the hoses are directly attached. I'm not quite ready for a test...
Check the 28v fuse at the bottom of the fuse block? Gen 2 and Voltemeter relays? Gen 2 light bulb? If you've done all that then I have to say youre stuck in the same spot as me.
Thanks Warthog! I wont mess with it then, that light still works! But I think Im going to run out and get a new alternator plug because mine looks kinda crispy. I just hope that short I had in wiring didnt fry the alternator when i tried to hook up the batteries.
Tore apart the dash again... checked every bulb. Ive never been so bummed to not find a bad bulb. I fixed the little light above the voltmeter, cleaned voltmeter studs, still have the gen 2 issue.
Found this behind the vacuum pump when I was replacing the vacuum hoses... not sure why its taped...
Oh Gen 2 light... why wont you work...
Lidsay, Im good with cookies. Depending what day I come down (and if the truck i going) my significant other may be bringing some cupcakes or brownies.
