Just finished up the 4th and final Cheyenne Frontier Days parade with my four M35A2’s. Lots of fun and lots of fans. The parade goers seemed to really like the War Wagon. Pics:

I’ve been on the lookout for 1960’s radio sound tracts. My idea was to play 60’s rock on a speaker for the same reason.

As far as I can determine, they were all painted gloss red. If you look at Untouchables, I believe they may have had the red mounts. Oops, it was Eve of Destruction that had the red mounts.

I sand blasted the areas of rust. Then I used rusty metal primer to cover the bare spots. Then I painted them up with candy apple red over everything.

Having the layer of ammo cans allows kids to handle the guns. For the littlest kids, the parents climb up and hold them high enough to reach. How tall did you make the gun mount support tubes?

I haven’t applied power to mine either. Same reason. One of these days I suck it up and hook it up.

I have three of the resin guns. Kids love them as well. When they ask to shoot them, I tell them they are movie props and they can’t be fired. That seems to make them happier.

Getting ready for this year’s events. I’ve been wanting to paint my gun mounts and this year, I’m doing it. I don’t recall which trucks that painted their mounts red but I like the look. Pics:

I have both. One truck has the ether start and the others all have the manifold fuel igniter system.

I’ve got no way of verifying if this is an issue but what type of cold weather start aid is installed? I’ve got trucks with two types. The first is the easy one, an ether start canister. I’d have to read the book on its characteristics but I don’t think it’d be an issue. If you have the other...

So are they running straight ATF? Or are they mixing it with something else? When I bought my M52A2, unbeknownst to me, the tanks were full of unfiltered used motor oil. The truck started, ran, drove and shutdown normally. I’m still finding crud in my fuel lines and tank.

I know of two AF gun trucks. Hangman and Hangman II. Both belonged to a Red Horse Squadron (possibly the 819th). They are in James Lyle’s books.
