Working on one of two rust/ chipped paint areas on my truck. Digging into the paint, it looks like GM applied a healthy coat of body filler over bare metal, then a coat of AF blue paint, and then a final coat of OD green.
Would it be normal for the factory to apply body fillers to a vehicle...
I'm thinking you hitched a ride on a C-1A Trader. Navy flew C-1's until the late 80's. Kinda looks like an S-3 with props.
There were US-3A's. Navy took some S-3's and turned them into Carrier On-Board Delivery aircraft. Not many were mod'd and only flew with VRC-50 out of the P.I.

When I changed my tank, ended up replacing it with a 31 gallon tank from LMC.
I was concerned about clearance around the skid plate. The 31 gallon tank will fit.
You might also get some extra rear bumper hardware. I had to cut most of mine off. LMC carries those as well.

Thats kind of surprising on your MPG, thought it would have been a little better. I get pretty much 18 MPG out of the pick-up that has the same engine.
Even though, cool truck. Love to have one someday.
